The Bessemer Hotel

Absolutely amazing my self and my husband had meal here plate was full beautiful food staff are lovely and friendly would definitely go again

Great location for our reason of being in area. Lovely carvery.Only downside was beds far too soft and creaking everytime we moved and the extractor fans out the back going all night and the smell once cooking commenced.

I stayed here after climbing some of the local well known mountains. I can't comment on food as unfortunately I had a funny turn and couldn't stomach anything. Not related to the hotel I hasten to add. As a hotel, it looks a bit dated, but it's clean, there wasn't a spec of dust anywhere, the rooms have ample space, Twin room for me and my mate. The bathroom served it's purpose. If you are looking for somewhere that doesn't cost a lot, Bessemer is it. It's only 30 min walk from the town, or a 2 min bus ride.

Our stay at Majestic Mountain Escape was simply breathtaking. Nestled among the peaks, it offered a sense of grandeur and wonder. Our lodge room was spacious and had a balcony where we could take in the mountain vistas. The hosts were warm and provided invaluable tips for exploring nearby trails. This is a place where the mountains reveal their timeless beauty.

Easy access, large car parks. Very friendly service, great breakfast, dinner and tea. Rooms are well managed with tea ,coffee.

Where to start..... On arrival we where told that they had run out of electronic key cards... the receptionist opened the the door with her card and promised she would return in 5 minutes with a replacement card from the sister hotel..as the card operates the the electricity we where left sitting in the room with no power or light!!!! half hour later the key card arrives. As another review said the noise from the floors creaking was quite shocking... the room itself was grubby boarding on dirty.. marks all over the walls with dirty hand prints on the walls too... no soap in dispensers completely empty...and its very very dated... then a phone call in the morning asking what car park we where in as they had delivery's and didn't want our car bumped!!!!! really??? it turned out that people collecting Sunday dinners block the car park and you cannot get your car out... i would never book this hotel again... i would rather sleep in the car... you have been warned..!!!!

Hotel seems to be located on low spec housing estate. Not very near to town.Digital clock on the outside of the building was wrong by about 5 hours.Reception desk unattended on arrival, rang the bell, and 3 youngsters arrived who seemed more interested in some very weak banter with eachother than checking us in.Lift had a really strange smell.Broken key caed for room didnt work, we needed to summon staff to let us in and out of the room.No hairdryer.There was some tape on the carpet, as if there were some work abandoned mid progress.No lock on the bathroom door... just a hole where it should be. Massive gap at the bottom of the door, also.Some cladding loose on the bathroom wall and soap dispenser leaking.TV reception was poor, only about 3 or 4 watchable channels.Only 1 pillow each in room.Loud extractor fan in the morning, probably from the kitchen.Nobody on reception at check out.I've emailed the hotel to ask for a call from the manager. They havent called me.

This review is purely on the Sunday take away dinnerI've always had a nice dinner from the Bessemer but I have noticed it been going down hill recently, today was the worse dinner I've ever had (from anywhere) it was salty but tastless and just awful gravy was watery, the trays have gone smaller I paid nearly £60 for 5 dinners!!! Its really a shame as I've always rated and recommend this place
