Richmond Doors

Replacing our front door was a big decision. The original door captured the character of our 1920s house, but we knew we needed one which was more insulated. Richmond Doors produced a handmade door which included all the original character of the door, but they also enhanced the design with subtle aspects proposed in the design phase. Doug and his team were excellent throughout, always clean & tidy, and fun to work with. I am really pleased we used them and we are enjoying our new door.

We are absolutely delighted with our new front door. It is clearly of a very high quality and will last for years. We had difficult demands for the door - it is south facing so gets very hot in summer, and because we can be seen from a conservation area we cannot install a porch above so it gets wet in winter. Our previous door lasted only three year before it gave up. It is already apparent that our Richmond door is of a far higher quality, being made of treated timber that will withstand the weather.We had stained glass in the door and in the frame that we wanted to transfer into the new door and frame. For the other potential suppliers we spoke to this seemed to be a big problem. One said they couldn't do it, and another wanted to charge a huge sum to transfer it. Richmond said this was no problem, and the stained glass has now been put between two more layers of glass so the door is triple glazed.The lead time was slightly longer than anticipated, but only be a couple of weeks which given the pandemic situation was no problem as at all. The installation team cleaned up after themselves and re-plastered/repainted so the surround looks better than it did before.Would have no hesitation in recommending Richmond Doors to anyone.

Overall, we had a really good experience dealing with Richmond doors. The whole process from first contact to door install was really smooth despite lockdown. Friendly guys, quality workmanship, and its good to have direct contact with the owner, not just at the point of purchase. We wanted a smart lock and while this was an unusual request for them, the install went well. Definitely a company that I will be recommending locally.

Doug and the guys at Richmond Doors have been fantastic, right from the initial consultation through to fitting the door. Doug was the only person who provided alternative ideas, which have proven to be perfect for our requirements. The door is top quality secoya and they responded quickly to ensure the door was fitted within 6 weeks. The paint finish is brilliant and they fitted with minimal fuss. They even had an innovative idea to ensure the door sealed properly in the corners.We felt that were very customer focused and provided a great solution to our requirements, such that I would definitely recommend them to anyone wanting to purchase a new front door. We are so happy with our new front door! Richmond Doors has replaced our old nondescript door with a lovely replica of the original doors on our street. Doug and the team were amazing, they listened to what we wanted and delivered it on time (even earlier than I thought actually), and they were very professional and friendly. I decided to replace my front door, as the old door was swelling a lot in weather and could become very difficult to close and open, plus a new one could be much better for insulation. I found Richmond Doors online and have been extremely impressed with their service throughout. Their doors are all very traditional and look in keeping with the architecture in Richmond - never thought I'd consider a front door to be beautiful, but their doors certainly are!Doug (from Richmond Doors) was very good at guiding through the door design and ordering process. He gave me a choice over every single element in the door: colour, hardware, locks, windows, etc. I couldn't be more happy with the result.The team who installed the door were extremely friendly and professional.The finished door has transformed the insulation of my flat, brightened up my corridor, and it opens / closes like a dream. It's also great to know that if ever problems come up in the future with the door, I have this excellent team on hand to help.Highly recommended if you're replacing your front door of a period property in the Richmond area.

We are delighted with our new front door, designed and installed by Doug and the team at Richmond Doors. From our initial engagement and throughout the design, build, and installation process Richmond Doors were responsive, friendly, and professional (especially as we went back and forth on various design and fittings options). The installation team were friendly and efficient, and left everything clean and tidy.The result is a beautiful door and fanlight with stunning stained glass. The reduction in noise from our relatively busy road is also significant and I am confident there will no longer be a cold draught come winter.Highly recommend!

We cannot speak more highly of the excellent job Richmond doors have done in replacing our front door. Doug Pigott and his team represent the best of craftmanship - an increasingly rare commodity in our 'modern' world!They worked from my design for a door that captures the ethos of our Art Deco inspired house. Tommy measured up and oversaw the manufacturing of the door in their factory - and Robertus and James spent two days installing it meticulously into an existing opening that was far from square! The quality and finishing is as good as it can be.We would unhesitatingly recommend Richmond Doors
