In the past we have really enjoyed our fish and chips here. However, for the last 2 or three times we have been significantly disappointed. We understand the price rises, but the cut of fish is no longer the familiar, usual, fillet cut, but something rather flat ( I wish I knew what it was ) and smaller, inferior. We don’t mind paying more for the same but not more for less! Next time we come to Parkgate we will be eating elsewhere which might cost more but will be better value for money. £17.60 for two fish and a portion of chips is not value.

Managed to get into here today and managed to grab a table inside. It's a small old fish and chip shop. Old style wooden benches with salt and vinegar on the table. Definitely work a stop here as the fish and chips are amazing. Be hungry as they will fill you up.

Clean and tidy with indoor dining. Quick service and freshly served food. Good quality ingredients. The only downside was all food is served in a cardboard tray, fine if you are takeaway, but if dining in, should be on a plate. Perhaps it's there business model, no serving staff required, no washing up, no tables to clear. Pity, because the food is excellent.

Their chips are better than anyone else's in the area, but the prices have gone up.It's now £5 for chips and curry, which I think is too much.

We got there just 2 minutes before the lunchtime service closed but the staff were good enough to serve us and made us feel welcome. It was obvious that our food was cooked fresh and wasn't just stuff that they had left in the hot cabinet. We sat outside to eat, making the most of the fabulous view and we were thrilled to spot Little Egrets and a Marsh Harrier as we scoffed our fish and chips (partner) and chips and peas (mine). The food was piping hot and absolutely delicious. It cost £15 in total which is more than we would usually pay but we didn't mind as the food was such good quality and the place is in a prime position. The building itself is very old and interesting and looked pretty clean. All in all, a good experience and we would defintely go back.

Excellent fish and chips, batter on the fish was light & crispy and whilst I don't mind it, the skin had been removed from the fish and it was superb. Great view across the marshes opposite as well. Curry sauce was lovely to.Parking can be an issue when it's busy.

Decent chips but according to the person manning the till the gravy and curry sauce weren't vegan but couldn't tell me what was in it?I'm assuming they didn't know but I would have appreciated them checking.

We arrived two minutes before closing, and far from being a problem, they happily cooked me a fresh fish. Very friendly staff. We sat on the benches outside and ate our meal while enjoying fantastic views over the Dee estuary. The fish and chips were excellent. At £15 we paid more than we would do normally, but it was well worth it.
