Marchwood Household Waste Recycling Centre
Booked in using website, had to queue for a short while before parking and unloading, but was no problem. Well organised shop reselling useable items.Disappointing to see members of the public inoring clear instructions and dumping rubbish in the wrong places.Staff are helpful and friendly if you're polite and pleasant to them.

I have been visiting this recycling centre for six years on a regular basis.I personally have received a very good and helpful service.If people abide by the guidelines for which the staff are trained to follow there is no problem.I have seen a few cases of people being rude when the rules are applied and go on the offensive, as it doesn’t suit their agenda

Marchwood Household Waste Recycling Centre
Had an issue with my booking which was my fault, but resolved easily, quickly, and good humouredly. Spoke to three staff (including the lady who charged for dumping plasterboard) and even in the pouring rain. everybody was friendly and helpful. Things seem to have changed.

Easy to book your visit . Very easy to park and plenty of spaces. All skips marked out for what items you can put into them. Also plenty of skips to use and the staff are willing to help in any way .

As few people wrote here, but it seems NO ONE from the authorities will ever pay attention, right? Needles to say most of the time the staff is rude there. We didn't have an appointment this time, as you can book only the next day, or day after. Anyway, we still live in NF, so should be allowed to use Marchwood Tip with ease, right?! When we came, there were only two cars, all the staff were sitting in the office, it was 3hr till Tip closure, they obviously refused us to drop a green waste and told us to drive to Millbrook Tip?! Are you serious? The booking system was for Covid times, there is no Covid epidemic for an yeah! We wasted an hour in a queue, in Millbrook Tip! Great! Next time only Lymington!!!

Ok. It's a council rubbish dump but you need to book and there are staff on hand to help. There is also a second hand store to buy second hand goods.

I didn't have an appointment so couldn't drop my recycling. The man was quite rude and authoritarian. They were not busy at all and he could have let me drop my rubbish and tell me, next time I will need an appointment. Some people enjoy others being sad or unhappy. I hope karma will get him slightly. I will go to another recycling centre with an appointment. Well done little rude man. I hope you feel good about yourself.

Just returned from the recycling centre , hope I never have to go again , As a 80 year old disabled pensioner It was little short of a nightmare' I parked in the disabled bay ,whereupon the you lady ? assistant came down the steps to tell me I had to reverse in .Which I did. then she watched me struggle up the steps ,one at a time ,and then told me i was at the wrong bin and back down I went . I ran out of breath , and had to sit on the steps to get it back , The young lady was moved by that ; she came down the steps to tell me I could'nt sit there and to go sit in my car ,the public were asking if I needed an ambulance ,she wanted me out of the way . another assistant came , a middle aged man and he really was helpfull ,made me sit while he finished emptying my boot . but no! I would'nt want to go there again

Terrible place always checking items so they can charge you. Awful booking system set up by HCC, online says it is busy but it is always empty.Best use the Southampton depot friendlier staff and no nit picking plus strangely no unessesary booking system, just turn up!
