Café Impromptu
Being a local 'foreigner', my wife and I popped into the cafe for the first time yesterday ... for cappuccinos. The welcome was great, and the drinks super! The best in town (by a country mile). No doubt I'll shuffle along again. Thanks!

We stopped here for a quick bite to eat. I had the scrambled egg on toast which arrived quickly however I would have liked the eggs and toast a little more well done but was still enjoyable.The service was good and the staff were warm and welcoming.

Definitely a 6 star place. Everything is cooked freshly from the best ingredients. Tasty, and carefully chosen menu if you want to find a healthy option. Cakes and coffee too. We have tried lots of the menu over the last few months and have always left empty plates.

Although we had a great experience here and the food was lovely, I won't be returning. They don't accept cash. Sadly this is alienating some customers. I wanted to pay for my friends food, only had cash on me as I had picked up the wrong bag and didn't have my purse, so there was a whole debacle with my friend having to pay in the end and me having to reimburse her. Cashless is not a good thing.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this cafe, and I must say, their traditional English breakfast is truly exceptional. The perfectly cooked eggs, crispy bacon, sausage, and grilled tomatoes left me thoroughly satisfied. The food was nicely presented and they the service was top-notch.The staff was attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure a pleasant experience. From prompt seating to timely delivery of the food, the service was excellent.I highly recommend this cafe to anyone in search of a bite to eat, and great breakfast.

Dropped in for a spot of lunch by chance. As soon as I entered we were greeted with a smile and shown to a table. I had a full English and the wife had a special. Absolutely loved the food and service was great. 25/8/23. A*

Don’t know why we’ve never been here on our travels before but it’s a great little café run by lovely people! The food was great and locally sourced, always a fan of hash browns as well! Could have done with an extra butter for the toast as there’s not much in the packet but other than that.Clean, friendly, well decorated and clearly very popular. Not a long walk from the large car park. Highly recommend!

Fantastic service. Meals were fresh and prepared quickly. All the staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The cafe is dog friendly and our little terrier loved her dog sausage. Thank you.

Amazing small cafe with incredible food. Came in while travelling and haven’t had many expectations, but my oh my, the food blew me away. Everything seems fresh and cooked to perfection. Unbelievable value too. The interior in nothing to brag about hence the 4 star on the atmosphere, but everything else was fabulous, even on a hot day with no aircon. If you’re in the area definitely visit this cafe, it will not disappoint you!

Best breakfast in Ashbourne!!Popped into Cafe Impromptu for breakfast this morning, both had full English and Tea, it was amazing. Great quality of ingredients cooked to perfection.Staff are lovely too, even a check back to see if everything was ok.Great value for money will definitely be back soon.Highly recommended cafe in Ashbourne.
