Sing and Sign

We’ve completed a half-term of the babies sing and sign class (birth to six months-ish) and we’re really enjoying it. I was really keen to join a baby signing class as I used signing with my first-born and found it so useful in aiding our communication. My experience then was that to learn signing, it’s best to go to a class that’s specifically on that, rather than signing with a mix of other activities.I like that this class is targeted at newborns as it focuses on using the key signs (so it doesn’t get too overwhelming) and Janine provides really helpful tips with this during the sessions. It’s nice that the babies in the group are a similar sort of age too.Janine runs the classes and she’s a great signing teacher. Friendly and welcoming too.I like that I can access the songs at home for free. There’s also a website with useful and accessible information on baby signing that you can follow-up on at home.Whitchurch tennis club is a really nice venue, the hall’s warm and carpeted. There’s also plenty of parking, as the tennis club’s quiet when the class runs. Whitchurch village and its coffee shops are just round the corner too, which is handy.Edited to add that at six months, my baby has started to sign for milk, which is so helpful! Now that we’ve moved onto baby weaning, I’m introducing a few signs around food which will no doubt help with that. We’ve continued on to Stage 1 classes and are really enjoying them.

A brilliant class that helped my son's communication immensely. We loved learning the signs together and it helped us work through frustration when language was still developing. One of the best activities we did together and Janine was a great teacher!

Great for encouraging communication and engaging babies of all ages with songs that are easy for parents to remember and replay at home. The classes are well structured and fun, with plenty of information in the membership area for parents to use at home. My son really enjoyed stage 1, always has a big smile for Janine and adores Jessie cat! We'll continue our classes next term at home which is great for working around going back to work

We really enjoy coming to sing and sign. Janine is very enthusiastic and the songs are great. I love that I can use the songs and gestures at home. I find that the songs are a life saver and stops baby crying when we are out. We enjoyed the babes class and now in stage 1!

My daughter has just finished three terms of Stage 2, from 18 - 30 months and she’s loved it the whole way through. It’s been lovely watching her grow up through it, learning the songs, making friends and helping Janine with all the props that make it so wonderfully interactive. The classes are well-structured but still feel relaxed and playful. It’s been fun as a parent too, getting to learn some sign, and having a bank of songs that I can entertain her with at home too. Very much recommend!

We have really enjoyed sing and sign this term, the classes are really relaxed and friendly and Janine is great, full of energy and very welcoming. We're going back again in September!

Great classes for babies and toddlers. Relaxed atmosphere, music and signing - all great for baby development. My baby loves it and we definitely want to continue into Stage 1 and 2.
