Not sure why but from midnight to 4:30am we had no running water in the room. And even though we had the air conditioning on the lowest it was still so warm in the room that we barely got any sleep. The restaurant was nice as were the staff, however. But the rooms are a bit outdated. The usb port didn't work and I got woken up twice by presets on the alarm next to the bed that hadn't been reset as part of the room clean.

A nice quiet hotel. Staff were very attentive and quick to address an issue I had with faulty AC. They moved me right away and were very apologetic which was very much appreciated. My only suggestion would be that some of the rooms look ready for a refresh and lick of paint. Would certainly stay here again.

Booked a room for my friends' first visit to London in August, the value of the hotel was superb. The front desk gave us a double upgrade as well as free breakfast, plus the fruits and lemon water provided at the lobby, which all added to our City of London experience.Would recommend to anyone looking for great value in the heart of London.

Me and my wife decided to stay 3 days at the Montcalm At Brewery, and I can say that the treatment of the hotel staff was magnificent, especially Zhanna, who from the beginning to the end of our stay, had a super friendly, attentive, service. On the other hand, the rooms are very complete and very pleasant, in terms of value for money we have no complaints, in addition to the fact that it is super central. We also decided to have breakfast at the hotel buffet, a breakfast of £18 per head, if I remember correctly, the truth is that taking into account the prices of this city that tend to be expensive, it was a super rewarding experience, we had the opportunity to eat an unlimited English breakfast and with excellent attention. In short, if we return to London, we will keep this Hotel in mind. It has left us a good taste in our mouth and a very nice memory of the trip.

I’ve never written a hotel review but I just had toI stayed at what was supposed to be the best room in this hotel and it was a nightmarish experienceAvoid at all costs and do not conflate with the Montcalm royal London which is only slightly better. It is not a 5 star hotel, the worst service I’ve ever had from an establishment, and very importantly - terrible shower pressure with Lukewarm water in winter months

Upon arrival, the setting of the old brewery looked excellent. It has a quirky layout which adds to its charm, the cobbled court yard and access directly into the pub which is excellent. However once we were shown to our room it is evident that the upkeep and the standard I would associate with a Montcalm was not there. The room was tired and when we had the conversation with reception we got upgraded. Unfortunately whilst the upgrade was a nice touch, again the room was tired peeling wallpaper, the toilet was filthy under the rim, the furniture delaminated, fixtures loose and unusable in the bathroom. We purchased the full breakfast, I had to ask for cups, a milk pot as there were none available.Once at a table, I went to the food area and my response was there was a lot of nothing. The food containers empty only sausage, tomato and hard boiled egg. So whilst they ended up getting replaced there was a queue. Again I would have expected this to managed and attentiveness to pro actively make sure that food is available and recognising that more needs to come out.So already disappointed, on check out, I was told I needed to pay for breakfast which I did when we checked in and also showed the amount taken from my account on my banking app. So was hanging around to be told it was a technical error on their part. There was no I hoped you enjoyed your stay, or any apology which soured the weekend stay and left disappointed. What I would suggest is have a routine of deep cleaning rooms and room checks and maintenance. There is so much potential for it to be a fabulous hotel.

The phrase “putting lipstick on a pig” comes to mind. The facilities are old and run down. The heat in our room didn’t work. The elevator was broken. The buildings were cold and drafty. As far as amenities: there were very few.Service was okay but again, the amenities were limited so the service didn’t have much help to offer. We forgot a few things and called hoping they would be able to help but didn’t have anything (outlet adapter for international plugs and sanitary pads were among the things they couldn’t help with). We Had to call three times one night just to get towels. One positive is the people working the door we’re always extremely helpful moving our bags or helping us with our stroller and the hosts were very nice.Breakfast was very limited and hidden away in a club lounge to keep it “exclusive” which was nonsensical because it was just, like, slices of cheese and fruit.Location was not great. If you needed anything after 7pm you were out of luck because everything was closed near there except one grocery store.Lastly, this hotel is not very accessible! Places like the wellness center and some of the rooms can only be accessed by stairs.Basically just know what you’re in for. This is in no way a “high end” experience.

First impressions were good. Impressive looking reception.Very nice looking room. However, couldn't sleep as air conditioning didn't work. Had a totally restless night. Was given a replacement room in the morning, looked like it should be staff quarters with the size of it.Bath had no plug and toilet seat came off as soon as I lifted the seat.Replacement room didn't get dark enough for me to sleep in as curtains and blinds did not block out the light.Air conditioning did work in this room though.Breakfast was good. This hotel has been neglected and definitely needs TLC.Not somewhere I would choose to stay again sadly.

Great location for the event I was attending which was in the venue that was very handy. There was a bit of a sewage smell in the courtyard which was there night and day.The room was nice and comfortable. It was not located in the main building so have to walk outside to get there from the reception. The staff walked you to the other building whilst checking in which was good service.

This place would do itself a massive favour by dropping down to 3 stars. It charges 3 star prices but people turn up expecting more than what they've paid because it supposedly has 5 stars.I don't know what boxes you have to tick exactly but i would be happy to forgoe a tatty umbrella and pair of slippers if it meant they could invest the money on soundproofing and decent mattresses. Is it better to have 5 stars and have to employ a team of concierges who hate their jobs, or not have that extra star and spend that money on replacing the peeling wallpaper and flaky paintwork? These guys are sat on an absolute gold mine but the reviews won't improve (and therefore they can't charge more) until they start investing in the absolute basic stuff. Our bed was so small that the double mattress spilled over the edges of it and meant the sheets were constantly untucked. The girls in the room next door stank the entire corridor out smoking weed. The room was the size of a shoebox. BUT they did have miniature disposable shoe shiners in the cupboard, complimentary miniature sewing kits and plastic shower caps so they can tick the boxes for the fifth star!Just a case of sorting genuine priorities from ridiculous and costly things that people don't actually care about and they would have a great hotel!Have to say the service at the front desk was excellent and incredibly friendly
