Dover Household Waste Recycling Centre

I'm not entirely sure why it's not able to be open fully .. sensible people using the facility social distance by default anyway , it is outside after all. The change to pay for plasterboard , hardcore and soil is a massive inconvenience and merely promotes fly tipping , perhaps not with physical dumping , all be it there are regular spots where this happens , but with people integrating thiz type of rubbish in with general waste.What's more damaging .. hidden recyclable waste , or providing a controlled solution .

I really appreciate the way the person on the entrance checking cars against bookings asks the drivers with larger loads including trailers what sort of re cycling they have and which car parking location makes greatest sense. It makes a huge difference when you have ton bags of garden waste etc

I have been to the recycling centre twice this week once to take a mattress and and then the headboard it wouldn't fit in with the mattress. The person who saw us as you drove in was friendly and directed us to where we had to go. Thank you to the staff there.

Since the introduction of the slot booking, I've not had to wait or queue once. The minimal charges for certain items is very fair (Find out how much a skip costs these days!!). Also, other recycle centres are much stricter and more expensive. Dover residents don't know how good they have it at the moment.

Booking a slot to visit the tip during covid-19 is essential the on site staff will turn you away if you are not booked in. Staff always friendly and helpful though.

Been to the tip twice in the last couple of weeks. The Staff there were very helpful. Directing us to where we needed to put the refuse. Everyone wearing masks..Second visit this friday. Again Staff were very helpful directing us to where we needed to be.I was however very surprised at how many people were NOT wearing masks.I queried this to be told it wasn't compulsory!!!

I booked a slot for Sunday morning, 08:30 to 9:45. I arrived about 09:00 as I wanted to avoid excessive queues. There were only about 8 cars in front of me and the queue moved forward quickly. When at the front of the queue I told the employee checking the bookings I had some bags of rubble, a lot of cardboard and some general household waste.I was directed to the cardboard area first, and having discarded all that was sent down to the household waste area. After that was dealt with I took my rubble bags to the fenced area for chargeable waste. Rubble is £4 a bag, plasterboard £6 a bag, and I think tyres are £2.50 each. I paid by credit card and was only way about 20 minutes after arriving.The site was busy, but not excessively so and everything seemed to be running smoothly.

Always helpful & extremely polite staff . The regular employees always very congenial.

Easy to book on line, staff are helpful if you are unsure where to dispose of the goods.
