Pleasant setting, sophisticated food, great flavours combination. I highly recommend this gem of a place. Formidable in every way. We were greeted by the owner, shown to our table. Service was impeccable. We will return and sample more of the menu.

A brasserie pitched and priced as Fine dinning. Elegant food, presented immaculately, but the restaurant was missing some fine dining details.Myself and three others dined a fortnight ago. I had steak, because for the price point this is the only reasonably priced item on the menu. £35 for a ‘pub’ main course is the top end for Northamptonshire. The food was served promptly, albeit by different servers, the waitresses were very polite and had answers to our questions.I had the Tikka masala scallops, which i found to be a curious combination, knowing scallops are a mild flavour they were i felt overpowered by tikka masala, but overall the dish was interesting to eat.The steak was perfectly cooked, but did come with a ‘parcel’ of vegetables (wrapped in a cabbage or similar leaf), that all appeared to have been fried and a sauce added, this was i felt an unusual way to serve vegetables with steak, an oriental style, as opposed to traditional chargrilled.I felt the restaurant lacked some aspects i would come to expect from similar at that level. The cutlery provided was the cheapest commercial cutlery, thin, lacking substance, the steak knives were cheap and basic, and the napkin was a basic cheap paper one, no plate chargers, no table dressing, cheap paper menus. The chair and table height was odd, with the table being low. These are below the standards this restaurant pitches itself at.Furthermore we could hear the kitchen radio from the table, and a dispute the servers had with the kitchen.I probably would not go again, for this price point, customer experience is unfortunately lacking.

What an amazing experience at the Kings l had with friends. The food did not disappoint- succulent scallops, juicy fillet steak, amazing desserts. Only downside is that if you have an allergy or intolerance its not clearly written on any dish ( gluten, dairy, nuts etc). I had to ask for a dish if it contained dairy but besides that it was amazing. Remember to bring lots of wonga!!£££ worth it

Impeccably presented culinary masterpieces served in a pleasant restaurant with polished wooden tables and floor. It appears that the evening menu changes monthly. Ours included pigeon breast, lamb rump, ox cheeks, monkfish and steak burger. The vegetarian option was charred Romanesco. I would recommend the restaurant for a celebration - the menu and food is special. It is pricier than your average fayre, but the experience is way above average! Expect to pay £30 - £50 for two courses, £10 for a dessert. A good choice of wine by the glass or bottle. Very clean throughout, all tables backed by clear Covid-screens which were present but not imposing. Attentive table service with bell (although never had need to use it). Well stocked bar and wonderful wine. Very pleasant staff. Village is located in lovely rolling countryside not far from Holdenby (house) and Brixworth (Anglo Saxon church), easy to get to from both Northampton and the A14. Car park at rear. Can't wait to return !

Lovely food if a bit on the expensive side, with good service in pleasant surroundings. The menu was pretty ambitious by local standards! Very tasty desserts which were the highlight for me. It was a bit on the quiet side so could have had a more bustling atmosphere, maybe we were unlucky with our timing.

A fabulous location of a restaurant, especially on a sunny day, where we sat outside for pre dinner drinks. I had the liver Parfait for starter which was beautiful and the Sea bass for mains which was equally tasty. The issue that we had as a Birthday party group was that we pre warned and booked 4 people in out party as vegetarians (including the birthday girl) and required the vegetarian Sunday dinner, unfortunately this wasn't fully communicated as the vegetarian roast was just the vegetables without gravy. The gravy was unfortunately meat gravy and we had to ask for an alternative which was a mushroom or tomato sauce which wasn't ideal as these were just sauces from other meals on the menu. It would be great if there was a specific sunday roast for veggies, like a nut roast or maybe a flat mushroom with breadcrumb as the main element. In reflection dessert was absolutely amazing for us all, the warm mousse is to die for!I love this restaurant alot, and I think Danny and Jo have made it fabulous, just a bit of thought into a vegetarian roast would be perfect!

Have not had such a good dining experience since a Michelin star in Oban. Exquisite menu, chef showing some real talent. I’m not normally a fish man but the lemon sole was to die for. I’ve seen many cheese boards and the cheese was good but the biscuits were a wow - really unusual I know but please try it. Have no hesitation in recommending this with a decent wine list what’s not to love. Food of this quality is worthy of support.
