Northgate Vehicle Hire

Had van recovered to here after stone hit and pierced radiator. A week later, haven't even looked at it. No adequate replacement vehicle and no idea when getting mine fixed. How Northgate claim to be better for your business is a mystery.

Short summary (detail below):Vehicle was delivered with scratches, missing paint and stinking of smoke.Northgate incorrectly stole money from my account and are refusing to pay it back.Northgate are still attempting to take money from my account, despite being told in writing that they are not authorised to do so.I have given them over a month to sort these issues before resorting to this review.Vehicle arrived scratched and stinking of cigarettes. This was supposed to be their top spec vehicle, costing a considerable amount each month.After a few months, the company began to take unauthorised payments out of my account. It turned out that the payments were for parking fines over 6 weeks previous, that I had never been informed of. After investigation, I managed to get all of the parking tickets cancelled. I am under no illusion that Northgate would have continued to take money from my account without authorisation and wrongly if I had not gone to the trouble of several days worth of phone calls to resolve it.I returned the vehicle based on this experience and informed Northgate, in writing, several times that they still owe me £240 that they stole from me and they were no longer authorised to take payment from my account.They have continued to attempt to take payments, resulting in me having to block them with the bank.Let me be clear that I am totally willing to pay any genuine charges but, as Northgate do not communicate until after they have taken the payment, I cannot tell whether these charges are genuine.

Van was recovered back here after an electrical fault which they thought they fixed so passed it over to there on site tame racing driver who ragged it out of the car park and shot off smashing the whole contents of the van everywhere. Thanks but no thanks try looking in the back of the van before you drive like a T**T.

Absolutely shocking service. Booked to collect a vehicle at 9:30, kept me waiting until 10:30 as there was a queue of people who had also been waiting just as long. One guy there at 10:30 still hadnt received his vehicle he'd booked for 8:30. Another man waiting said that this isnt unusual, he'd booked a van last week for 10:30 and didnt get it until 12:45. Then when I returned the van the same day, I had to wait in another queue to hand the vehicle back in. I was told they cant refund the deposit until the vans been checked over, and they need my car to do the refund so I have to wait. I asked how long it was going to take and the woman looked at the 7 other customers in the waiting area before replying at least half an hour". Absolutely disgusting."

4hrs for a tyre change. Unbelievable. Overheard mechanics having a go over the loudspeaker that there is too much workload. Don't accept the work if you can't deal with it in a timely manner

C.F. supervisor could not supervise her own day let alone a team of 10 plus, management overall shocking, work environment terrible, pay for what you are expected to do is less than min wage, colleges great to work with pity it was with this company, avoid working here at all costs if you value your mental health, they set bonus targets that are impossible for anybody to hit EVER but they are willing to increase higher management's pay and bonuses, as for the little people they just treat you like a piece of dirt and never ever look after staff would rather sack you than help!!!!!!

I broke down at 09.30 on the M1. I was recovered within 30 mins to the services. I had to sit & wait for The AA patrol. Then wait whilst he diagnosed what was wrong & then wait again to be recovered. Apparently It's Northgate's policy not to except a vehicle without it having the problem diagnosed. I've just sat for just over another hour waiting at Northgate. It's now 16.08. Total waste of a day. Not impressed at all.The best day will be when we don't use Northgate again.Would I recommend them........ Not in this life time.

NICE CLEAN WARM RECEPTION AREA TO WAIT IN WITH A TV AND NEWSPAPERS, THERE IS ALSO A FREE COFFEE MACHINE, THE STAFF ARE EFFICIENT AND EASY TO DEAL WITH AND THE DELIVERY STAFF ARE POLITE, CURTEOUS AND VERY HELPFUL AND FRIENDLY..

Shambolic in every way, from organising to so called completion.
