Planning Inspectorate

I have tried to find out what is happening to my high hedge appeal, sent in February. There is no acknowledgement or response to phone requests and emails cannot be delivered. Has the whole office shut down? If so, why?

I just had a short conversation with someone named Chris after waiting for approximately ten minutes to get connected. Chris was competent and able to respond to my enquiries or at the very least point me towards the right direction. Reading the reviews on here made me a little anxious, so I might have just been lucky!

I was an objector in inquiry by Inspector Mark Yates regarding the closure of a footpath/ bridleway in Barrow upon Soar. I have just read Mr Yates decision and despite it not upholding our objections, I would like to congratulate him on his neutrality and report. The case was relatively complex and he was astute, professional and fair.

Why do we need this planning inspectorate? Waste of ratepayers money! Plans rejected by local council and parish council. Builder goes to appeal, inspector form Bristol who knows nothing about the area, turns up in the middle of covid and passes the plan, which were objected to by 95% of neighbours and not in keeping with street scene or village plan. Now, after 3 years, the construction company are building what they like and not following the plan which was given approval. Seems we can all just do as we like.

I phoned the customer service line today and it's manned by an overweight heavy breathing idiot.. so I am clear as to what process was I repeated it to be clear. Only to be told by numb nuts I think I've made myself clear on this issue" no idiot I was running through the council's process to ensure I was now at the phase of report to the planning Inspectorate. Anyway in the end despite the rudeness got what I needed. Just be prepared for 20 bellies with an attitude."

Absolutely useless. Allowed a 9 metres extension in a mid terrace residential property. It sets a precedent in England that you can build anything in the residential area and get away with it, despite the fact it affects neighbour's amenity and way of light. You should be absolutely ashamed. Useless
