A good village pub and bistro set just off the A14 with adequate parking. Recently renovated and reopened. The menu is varied and the food is good. There are a range of beers and the service is very pleasant. A garden at the back and benches at the front offer nice place for a drink in the sun.

Not eaten here for a while and was very disappointed in the food & service. Not once did we get checked on, had to continuously call waiting staff over to ask for drinks, then waited an age for them to come. Food wasn't great either, was luke warm at best. The portion size wasn't generous, 2 small bowls of roast potatoes & veg between 9 on us. This pub used to be packed but was only half full on a Friday, very disappointed to see its not thriving as it used to.

Some parking around the back.Only for around 6-7 cars through so if you have a bigger vehicle park at the front. Some outdoor seating both at the rear and the front. The bar area is very nice, although not big, the seats are comfortable with a TV in the corner.Dogs allowed. The food was very nice and came out fairly quickly. To note, wear a jumper in the restaurant as its quite cold.It was originally a vehicle shed / garage and you can see the sliding doors at the end.The restaurant could also benefit from a little more atmospheric character like some music and maybe some candles lit..( it's almost too quiet )The candles would actually help with the temperature.....Still, it's a nice classy pub for food.

We went here for lunch with a short notice booking for 8. The venue is very nice, the main dining room is great and if possible he sat in there. It took a while to get served and when our mains arrived it took quite a while for our side dishes to arrive. Hence the 4 not 5. Minor point otherwise an excellent lunch.

Five stars for virtually everything and everyone here. The food was terrific and the variety was ample. The staff were amazing, especially for a fairly busy Friday evening. The interior was immaculate and arguably one of the nicest I've seen in this part of England. I didn't get the fish and chips this time, but will do next time. It looked amazing. (We had a party of 16, which they easily accommodated, so there were many different orders.) Highest recommendation to come here.

Not what the George used to be. This was our first visit back since new management took over, apparently. Food was mediocre. Trout was bland, Fish and Chips were too soggy, and forgettable. Prices were slightly high for average pub food. But atmosphere is still nice.

A lovely village pub! Food was good, if not a little expensive, but the service was great, the menu extensive and the atmosphere lovely. We had Camembert and Padron peppers to start, steak and lamb for main, and a few drinks each. With a tip it came to around £100.

We booked a table for 5 pm Sunday for 6 people rang ahead and asked if can add an additional 3 people. As the website advertises serves food until 9pm on Sundays.Met by waiter who told us to hurry up and ring the extra 3. The pub was empty maybe 4-6 people in the bar. Really didn’t understand the problem ! Then told they close at 5pm. I had booked online and checking if I made a mistake the booking online will let me book for next Sunday at 7. The extra 3 were running late and they said they would take our orders and only feed the 6. During this time we were still waiting for our drinks order.Really disappointed, such a lovely well maintained pub but they can afford to turn away 9 paying adults celebrating a birthday because they cannot update their website or just ring me to inform us they close at 5 and could we come earlier! Good luck to them as we certainly will not be returning.
