A lovely village cafe which is so much more. The solid, high-quality menu is always accompanied by an offering of specials as well as a range of cakes, meaning that you always have the opportunity to have either a tried and tested favourite or something new. The food is always cooked perfectly and beautifully presented. Favourites have to include the Benny 22, mushrooms and stilton, and, of course, the cinnamon buns.

Just not impressed, its not cheap which would be OK but you still have to order at the counter and then collect your drinks when they shout out your table number, like collecting an order at a fast food place. You have to wait to be seated and the lady that seated us was friendly, the lady at the counter was not so friendly! When the breakfast arrived there was a hair sitting on my wife's breakfast, we did not complain at the time because my wife didn't feel comfortable to. The breakfast was average, coffee was good, its not a greasy cafe but its not upmarket either just somewhere in the middle.I find it disgusting the way the owner has replied to previous reviews including one with a rant about gender, pathetic. There are better places to go in South Leicester.

We found this gem of place as we’d wanted a special brekkie before dropping our girl at Uni. Having seen the amazing reviews, we gave it go - we weren’t disappointed. What can I say other than superb! Great coffee, freshly squeezed orange juice, attentive staff, lovely ambiance - but most of all we loved the quality of the produce all sourced locally, even down to the condiments. All the littleattention to detail that makes the whole experience top notch! We even stocked her up on delicious, home made cakes before we left. It’s even dog friendly with a doggie menu!! Really couldn’t recommend this wonderful little place highly enough!

Genuinely one of the best breakfast spots in Leicestershire. The food is homemade or locally sourced and always delicious! Terry one of the owners and their team are always delightful. Very dog friendly in there too. The milkshakes and fresh bakes (especially cinnamon buns) are also incredible. Can't say a bad word about this place, love it here!

I love this cafe! Gorgeous food and drinks, lovely cafe space and delightful people. The coffee is great (local St Martins beans) and as everyone else says, all ingredients are locally sourced. They don’t have soya milk but that’s because it can’t be sourced locally or sustainably - their local oat milk is lovely and they have other non dairy options.Great selection of fresh baked cakes and goodies, including 3-4 gluten free and 3-4 vegan options every day - such a refreshing change from the usual brownie/flapjack!This is an absolute fave and I will keep coming back.

We were on our way to Rutland and happened, luckily, to drive past the Cook in the Nook. Such a brilliant find. It was busy, always a good sign, and we had an excellent, delicious lunch. Highly recommended. Just wish it was closer to where we live!
