My wife and I were impressed with the wide range of stoves on display at the showroom and informative advice that we got when we were making our final decision. This was followed up when the stove was due to be installed. The engineers who fitted the unit were highly skilled and they tidied up after they had finished the installation. Not much else to say other than we are both really happy with stove itself and overall service.

As someone who is always looking for the cheaper alternative my experience with the Scottish Stove Centre (SSC) has somewhat changed my opinion on finding the cheapest deal. Although SSC are a little more expensive, I can confirm no expense is spared with materials used.My previous install was a simple Flue placed into an old brick chimney, often leaving the wall in my spare room upstairs hot to touch. The hole housing the stove was small allowing the heat to head straight up the chimney.SSC installed a dry insulation pour down the stone chimney removing any air pockets to prevent heat loss and my spare room wall is now cold to touch when the stove is lit. They also widened and heightened the hole which houses my new stove allowing the heat to circulate and bounce back into the room due to the insulated pour. This results in my whole house heating up in less than an hour.In the show room Sean helped me select a stove right for my property, providing an itemised and detailed quote. On the day the installers Ian and Josh arrived and protected my floor and furniture with rubber matting, plywood boards and finally sheeting. Their work was clean and efficient. The clean-up for me after was minimal as they took everything with them. When Ian and Josh arrived, they explained how they intended to install my stove step by step. During the install they noticed one of the external chimney sections had two very small dints on it (approximately half a millimetre each in size) due to this being on the roof, I would not see these and was happy for it to be used. Ian and Josh explained that although I was happy, they could not confirm the watertight integrity of the chimney which could potentially cause water to leak into the insulation of the chimney and reduce the efficiency of the stove when it rained. (As a result, they returned the next day with a new chimney section). They explained how to use the fire fully and ensured I had everything to hand, it was very clear that these two knew what they were talking about and really took pride in their work. I was provided a set of gloves and a carbon monoxide detector as well as a starter box with logs, kindling and matches. This was a two-day fit and although the Oak Beam was originally too long, they ordered me a new beam which will be installed when it arrives. Due to this Ian and Josh finished the top of my fireplace with fire board so it would not sit looking unfinished until the oak board arrives. My old Stove was a 5KW, Multi-fuel Stovax 5 which I exchanged for an 8KW, Chesney 8, Wood burning stove. I requested the 8K Multi-fuel but Bill" the owner of the company arrived to out to my home to assess the property to confirm if the build could go ahead. Bill recommended I changed my stove for the wood burning stove (Which was £150 cheaper). He recommended this due to more room inside the stove for a nice flame and the fact it is easier to maintain

Turned up with my wife to buy a stove in my works pick up, was barely acknowledged as we walked in. Another old couple pulled up in a range rover and were instantly swooned over. Long story short they bought some glass cleaner and we bought a stove! However I don't have a range rover so there you go. Stove was over poor quality, over priced garbage and have had to replace it since for a much better and cheaper one. They wanted over 3k on top of the cost of the stove to fit it and I managed to replace the poor quality stove and get a new fitted by a defra approved contractor who is also a registered hse fire safety officer for £1500. Make you own mind up. I live locally in Balloch so no chance I have you mixed up with another company.

We got a double sided stove fitted 18 months ago. received excellent service from Bill Sean and the whole team. Bill spent lots of time initially discussing various options with us. Sean was hugely patient with us as we tried to decide which stove we wanted. The engineers were phenomenal hugely skilled and overcame many obstacles when fitting. Fantastic after sales service as well I honestly can't recommend them highly enough.

Bought my log burner from here almost 10 years ago. Very helpful staff and I've been back numerous times for other bits and pieces. They also sell logs, fans and spare parts. Will sweep your flue if required. Highly recommended.

There are two parts to this: buying the stove and having it installed. You can buy a stove from anywhere, but the installation fee is heavily discounted if you buy from the STC, so you are incentivised to buy from them. Personally, I found going to the showroom and seeing the stoves in action to be invaluable, and the advice on hand was fantastic. Having checked the price against the RRP from the manufacturer Chesney's they were spot on. First tick. The installation is where I was REALLY impressed. First of all they were really nice people, very happy to answer myriad questions and tangibly going beyond the bare minimum to do a fantastic job. This isn't a case of replacing a gas boiler, it is a work of art going in to an uneven, old, dusty, derelict fireplace. Most of the work is around restoring, upgrading, levelling and tarting up prior to putting the stove in.Couldn't have been more impressed and thank you for a wonderful job.My main installer was Ian McDaid.PS I don't review often but when I get a top-notch service I like people to get credit for it.

Very expensive! £2000 quote to install a chimney flue for a gas fire and a small hearth without instalation! £850 labour costs!! I got a much cheaper quote elsewhere, please do your research.

Probably one of the most pretentious companies imaginable! McDade ENTERPRISES no less! The Scottish stove centre being a small part of Mr McDade's huge organisation (?!)Aside from charging more than double the amount for sweeping a chimney (£95) than competitors (£45) they tend to be incredibly unreliable and fail to return calls or followup work that they have recommended to be done. The sweep is no better or worse than their competitors so don't imagine you are getting twice as good a service. You're not.Their showroom however is reasonable so it's not all bad. Again, high prices abound. There are better alternatives.

If looking for a stove this is the place to go. I couldn't recommend a better place. The showroom has a wide selection of display stoves that covers all tastes or requirements. The staff are well knowledged and will answer all your quistions. The installation was quick and hassle free. It had no impact on our lifes with virtually no mess. The installation team were brilliant making me feel I had known them all my life. The sales team were so helpful, giving you advice and the time to ponder on your choices.Great little place well worth a visit

Our stove was fitted last week and the service provided throughout has been first class. The engineers who fitted the stove displayed professionalism, knowledge and were extremely helpful along with tidy at all times. This was a great job and excellent customer service from start to finish. Thank you. I would not hesitate to recommend to others.
