If you are looking for an indian taste restaurant then this is not at all the one. I am giving 1 star because 0 star option os not there. We have tried Prawn Starter and masala dosa (The sambar is very less and for a small bowl of sambar we have been charged 1.50 pound which too costly), Paneer starter (First of all it’s not Paneer rather it’s Tofu and secondly after mentioning to the waiter about the dish preference like Indian spicy level and don’t put any sweet sauce in every dish but still he didn’t mention it to chef and all dishes were sweet), Fried rice (Chicken/ Veg)

I ordered a chicken Dosa to take away. Oh my word! Best outside of Sri Lanka itself. Unbelievable. I’d come back to the isle of white purely to eat this again!

We had an amazing meal here tonight. The food was amazing. It was quiet, which was a shame because the food is brilliant. The staff were very friendly and really accommodating. We would go back here, without a doubt. Really good value for money too, we brought home what we didn't manage to finish and our boys gobbled it up when we got home. The food was spicy, but in no way overpowering. Yum yum yum!

I purchased the fish curry with pilaw rice as a takeaway. I wasn't able to eat the meal for many hours as I was travelling back home. Reheated this was a surprisingly good dish; full of curry leaves, coconut milk and tamarind flavours. If you're after an authentic Indian taste and don't mind waiting a little extra time, this is for you. The best I've tried on the IoW.

Found this new Sri Lankan restaurant in Ryde and was excited to try the Masala Dosa's, which we have had before in another establishment (Crawley). We started with the Ulunthu Vada's. Delicious spicy dounuts and dips. The Dosa's looked promising, we're crispy, huge and freshly made. The Dosa Spicy Potato filling and accompanying sides were delicious. Unfortunately the actual Dosa was too thick and had an oily after taste. I sadly was only able to eat the middle with the filling as the sides were too oily for my taste. Dad felt the same too, (also a Dosa fan). Still giving 4 stars though as the service was friendly and prompt. Lots of other choice on the menu so would visit again, maybe to try something different. The Chef maybe just needs to tweak the Dosa Recipe and cooking method, to make it lighter and less oliy, as other reviews have said the same. Due to the friendly service and plentiful choices on the menu still happy to recommend.

A local non-veg restaurant that had a refurb in 2022 and happened to be highly rated as well as open on a chilly Sunday night in Ryde.We sat towards the back of the restaurant which was clean, however, there were significant fluctuations in the lighting which disturbed the ambience, alongside the female toilet door which was affected by a draught, or perhaps being haunted, who knows. There are a range of cuisines from the Indian subcontinent on offer but this is primarily Sri Lankan; thus, the recommendation is to go for typically Sri Lankan dishes. Unfortunately, very few of these are vegan and it's a shame because good vegan Sri Lankan food does exist.I enjoyed the ulunthu vada starter - the vadas are well formed and immediately signalled to me that the chefs are more than adept at cooking in their cultural cuisine. However, for the mains there was no choice other than to indulge in the North Indian options. With regret, these dishes are not their forté and this review reflects a star lost on missing authenticity in texture and flavour. If dietary options don't bother you, as other reviewers have noted this is likely a great restaurant to try real Sri Lankan fare; but be warned if you decide to deviate from that specialty. I'd absolutely come back if they improve with a more inclusive Sri Lankan menu.

We love this restaurant. It's south Indian and Sri Lankan food so very different from Tandoori restaurants that we are more used to, but don't let that put you off. The food is fantastic and the staff are great.

Great South Indian Food, with great ambience. If you are visiting Isle of Wight and looking for a South Indian restaurant/ taste, I would strongly recommend Chumma Kitchen.Plain Dosa, Ghee roast, parota, idiyappam, Sweet / Mango Lassi are the ones we tasted and would give 5/5 for taste / quality and quantity. The sambar is not like restaurant taste but like home made. But other than that. It's delicious. We stayed in Newport 3 days and have travelled there for every evening for dinner. And would definitely come again if we visit Isle of Wight. Thanks
