Very informative tour of recycling plant. All Leeds black bag waste is processed through here. Makes you think of how we dispose of waste at home. What we could do better to recycle at home.

I'm a current customer and I hate to say I have experienced an absolutely shocking service during the last year. For the previous 12 years+, never had an issue. Won't collect waste (state various excuses to the effect, which have proven to be fictitious). I assumed being a waste company, this would be your only job?!

I do not use the services of this business this is purely on my experience with one member of there staff outside a Premier inn in leeds on 22nd September at 11.50 driving truck with reg dg67 dhy. Whomever the driver is unfortunately i do not know however he was very cautious stppped and let me cross with all my luggage even though he was wanting to do his job. He then stopped again to get out of his truck and alert me that I had dropped my coat in the road. These days not many people would be so courteous. So purely on my experience with this member of staff I will give 5 stars. Very professional and kind can only imagine the service this person gives to customers would be exemplary l.

Filmed there last Friday. It a great place, fantastic that primary schools can visit and learn something about recycling. And that green wall... wow!

An interesting building that dominates, and I mean dominates, the skyline of Leeds, made to look very interesting and green to hide the fact that local residents didn't want in near them. As you go past you can smell the gas they use to burn the recycling"; at least I hope that's what it is. And it brought much needed jobs to the area; did it though? Did it really do that? Just how many of the 10's of thousands of people working there actually came from the local residents? And it helps to produce much needed electricity by recycling gas to burn stuff; so just like any other power station then

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit today. We all learned so much about what happens to our rubbish and what we should do differently. I found it fascinating.

The recycling center in East Leeds is absolutely amazing. Everything is used to regenerate power and the chimney stack emits clean steam.Wonderful for schools, get yours booked in now.

Let's dispel some of the complete ignorance of certain NIMBYs who have reviewed" this facility prior:1. It doesn't "recycle gas". The facility sorts black bin rubbish to separate recyclable waste that has been mixed in mistakenly by residents (estimated to be a minimum of 10% of waste processed). This waste is then recycled as normal elsewhere.2. It doesn’t use “gas” at all. What you can smell going past it on particularly humid days is just the scent of a huge amount of household waste that is being processed prior to burning.3. What it actually does is incinerate household waste to stop it going to landfill. The heat is used to generate steam which powers a turbine. So like a normal power station

Really excellent day and I even learnt a few things about recycling opposed to general waste in the Leeds area.Shout out to Helen our Guide for a very knowledgeable experience. Loved the headset commentary.
