Amazingly large for a church. Great acoustics watching the BBC Symphony. Kind, polite and helpful vergers who kindly directed us to our seats. Thank you for being a venue for Newbury Music Festival.

St Nicolas Church
St Nicholas is a beautiful church located in Newbury town centre with a lovely green space surrounding it. Lots of local access nearby with the Kenner Centre car park just down the road. Lovely to walk around on a sunny day, it’s a gorgeous building and one of the many historic buildings in Newbury. Obviously it has a range of religious services on offer including wedding, christenings and funerals.

St. Nicholas (St. Nick's) is a lovely church. The building is stunning, great strained glass windows. But what was even better than the building were the people who attend. I went to the Sunday evening 6pm contemporary worship service, and I felt really welcome like I had been there for years even though that was the first time I had ever been there. I would recommend to anyone, whether you live in Newbury or even if you are just visiting. You will love it there!

Why is the church closed most of the time? It’s Sunday quarter past six pm. It’s supposed to be open but unfortunately is closed. Not a god feeling.

Visiting the town of Newbury for the first time. Had some spare time and took a wander. Came across St Nicholas Church and thought I would take a look. Had a warm welcome and was invited to join Holy Communion service which was nice. The church building is interesting, with a lot of history behind it and some lovely stained glass windows - so it's worth a look even for them. There seems to be a lively congregation, with activities for all ages and a mixture of services to suit more traditional C of E and more contemporary.
