Large property and gardens to take in the history and explore. Very popular venue with ample parking. I think it's only the 2nd NT property I've been to with a member of the family who originally owned the property still living on site. Lovely to see all the deer when walking around the grounds.

Went Saturday afternoon with my daughter and her partner and their dog Lucy, had a lovely walk around the grounds, and lunch in the orangery. Visited the gift shop which I thought was expensive £6 for a bar of soap, and £8.50 for a crocheted sunflower keyring. But apart from that had a lovely afternoon.

House is now in full Christmas mode, the downstairs rooms have been transformed into beautiful rooms with Trees and decorations, congratulations to the team. The volunteers were helpful and full of knowledge the grounds were full of deer most looking splendid with their antlers.

A very pleasant national trust visit. Some upstairs rooms were not accessible during our visit unfortunately. The grounds are extensive and if you get the opportunity to see the deers, especially around the lake, it is fascinating to see them.

There's plenty of free parking and it's not in a muddy field! The house can be reached via a very nice walk down the driveway. They have 2 great cafes serving hot drinks, cakes and pasties with seating inside and outside. There's people in the main house to talk to about the history of the building and it's occupants and they have an impressive knowledge of the pictures etc.Everyone was super helpful and friendly, there's a gift shop where you can buy jams, note pads, hats and other mementos of your visit there's even a small garden centre where you can get some plants for the garden. There was a vintage car show on the walk up the drive to the house and the sun was shining down on all of us so a great way to spend a few hours on a sunny day.
