Taekwon-do-Wales / Aberbargoed

This is the most supportive club you could wish for. Our 7 year old daughter has been a member for 3 years and in this time has grown in confidence and ability. The club run fun activities, family shows and support at local competitions. I wouldn't choose anywhere else.

My daughter started taekwon-do few weeks back and she absolutely loves It. The instructors are very patient as she can day dream, like any 4year old. Pete is very professional and makes the lessons fun.Absolutely recommended!

My husband, daughter and I attend Tae Kwon Do Wales classes in Aberbargoed. Pete and Pat are exceptional teachers, understanding of everyone's individual needs and capabilities, and continuously supporting us all to achieve. We particularly love the Family classes, which allow us all to attend together, regardless of belt colours, which helps with childcare and also allows us to support each other and see what we can all do. Definitely 5 stars! Everyone should do Tae Kwon Do

Pat & Pete at taekwondo wales are amazing. They are so welcoming to all students young or old. They have managed to create a very inclusive environment and the new facility in Aberbargoed is just fantastic. Their teaching style is very professional but at the same time fun and engaging. Can’t recommend this club highly enough.

* responding- said child isn't mine so I couldn't have reported as my child doesn't attend these classes, it was a friends child who was left unattended. My friend was 3 minutes late due to the road works and another childs parent was outside waiting with said child to make sure he got picked up and was safe. I understand that my friend is contacting you at some point today to discuss the issue.Absolutely shocking, a friends child attends this class and was left outside on his own unattended while the instructor went back inside. Didn't bother to stay with my friends son to make sure he got picked up, thankfully a child who attends the same school as my friends son was there with his mother to make sure my friends son was okay and my friend was there a few minutes later but anything could have happened to him as not only is he 5 years old but he was left outside by the instructor with no care in the world on a busy industrial estate, appalling behaviour. Thankfully his classmates mother was there to maintain his safety until he got collected by his mam.

My 4 year old has been attending the little leaders sessions twice a week for the past 6 months or so. He thoroughly enjoys it. On Saturday we were able to watch his first grading session via zoom and were so impressed with what we saw. We started our son to help boost his confidence, as he is often shy and reserved and Pete and Pat are definitely helping with that. The time, effort and passion they both put into teaching the little ones is admirable. It’s clear that the children have a lot of respect for them both. Not many people can get a room full of 4-6 year olds to follow instruction so wonderfully. It was a large group and they were all extremely well behaved for over 1.5hours. Our boy was beaming with his orange stripe belt. Thank you for giving him something positive to enjoy and focus on.

It's been almost been a year since I started with tkd wales and I have learned sooooooooo much and met soooooo many friends and we are big one family and we stick together and I wanna say peter and pay is the teachers I ever been under if u looking for to learn self defence come to tkd wales

My son joined Peter and Patricia Kent-Marrast at Taekwondo Wales in April 2020. Pete and Pat (as they are affectionately known!) worked tirelessly throughout the national lockdown, running daily Zoom lessons for their students, providing a much needed structure to the day at such a difficult time. When national regulations subsequently permitted they provided outdoor lessons come rain or shine. They also graded their students online and went out of their way to deliver belts and certificates to the homes of all their successful pupils. It that wasn't enough, Pat even provided additional fitness / stretching videos on the website. They always go above and beyond for their students. Lessons are well structured and extremely varied, age appropriate and a lot of FUN. They are firm but fair and instill focus, commitment and a desire to succeed in their students. Due to self-isolation (!!) my son attended the Aberbargoed club for the first time last week and has been counting down the days to go back to Pete and Pat's club" all week

Great club, very inclusive, has gone to great lengths to deliver online classes and socially distanced classes when needed. Ladies class is fantastic and the kids classes are supportive as well as challenging for the kids.
