We got lessons with Mia as a gift, and we loved the experience. Mia is so kind and patient—an excellent teacher! She makes complex tasks beginner friendly and she's very encouraging. We're thrilled with our pots and experience.

Mia is so talented and we all had a wonderful class with her. She was really accommodating to our requests and was wonderful with my 10 year old nephew too! Our pots turned out beautifully and it’s an absolute joy to have a piece of Mia’s original work (as well as my own pottery) in my home. Thank you Mia. Highly recommend!

I had a personal wheel throwing lesson with Mia. I cannot describe how special it felt! Mia is calm, attentive, warm and inspiring artist and teacher. I am forever grateful for introducing me to wheel throwing and inspiring me to continue to create. Thank you, Mia!

My friend bought me an experience voucher for my birthday as we had been pottery painting elsewhere before and really enjoyed it.Mia was kind, gentle, but simultaneously a brilliant teacher and we both came away feeling we had learned new skills. I was surprised at how intimate the session was (the workshop is situated in a lovely outhouse in her own back garden) but equally it was a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. I genuinely felt that Mia was generous and welcoming and at no point did I feel judged when I made mistakes etc.We made clay plates and were lucky enough to do some pottery throwing and made small pots. Our understanding is that the pots will take a few weeks to be set and painted which is absolutely fine and we look forward to returning to collect them and say hello again.I absolutely would love to do this again, we both had a brilliant day. I have had a wonderful experience with Mia, she is very patient and extremely skilled in her craft. I will definitely be booking more lessons and i would highly recommend Mia ceramics to anyone who is looking to get into pottery. I would give 10 stars if i could.

I bought this experience as a birthday gift for my best friend. We had been pottery painting previously and she had mentioned since that she would be really interested in the whole pottery process. I had a look at a few places in Sheffield but was really drawn to Mia - and i'm super happy I was! Even from the initial enquiry email I sent to Mia, I knew she would be a great teacher for me and my friend.Although my friend is the more creative one of our duo, I had an incredible time and thoroughly enjoyed every minute. We started by doing some slab work, creating a lovely plate, and finished off with some pottery throwing and creating our own little pots.Mia was very polite, making conversation throughout that was not just about pottery. She made us feel incredibly at ease and although some of the throwing process can be a little daunting for beginners, she guided us perfectly and there was no judgement when we did something wrong. Mia also shared her beautiful home with us during the lunch break, making us feel incredibly welcome.This is a perfect intimate experience for friends (and couples!). I would absolutely recommend it to anyone who is uncomfortable being in a big group of unknown people, or those that would just like a more personal workshop.Thank you very much Mia for sharing your passion and knowledge, and allowing me and my friend to have the most pleasant experience.We have had the best day!

Highly recommend! Despite having close to no experience with clay, Mia was still able to accommodate my request of trying out throwing on the wheel. She was incredibly flexible and I felt that our lessons were personalized to focus exactly in what I wanted to do.During the throwing session, I was able to use the time to make as many pieces as my inexperienced hands allowed me to. This came as a surprise for me as other pottery studios often mention a 'clay allowance'. We were even able to create some small cutouts from leftover clay.Additionally, Mia's way of teaching is very calm and easy to understand. She had shown great patience in helping me when I needed, always ensuring that I didn't ruin my own work.Overall, Mia is a great teacher - calm and patient. Her sessions are flexible to personalization, which I really appreciate as it greatly maximises the experience. Absolutely delightful experience, 11/10, would do it again.

My Mum and I were made to feel incredibly welcome from the get-go.We have enjoyed a great day of pottery making with Mia. From pot throwing to slabs, to imprinting to painting. We have learnt so much! Mia is such a skilled, knowledgeable, and patient teacher.We have had such a lovely time and we cannot wait to see our creations, once they've been glazed and kilned!We can't recommend Mia enough.
