Enjoyed dinner here with friends and the food was lovely. The atmosphere is cosy and relaxed but the staff took it to the next level! So friendly and nothing was too much trouble! One of the party had a food allergy and the restaurant and kitchen staff were beyond meticulous about it! The bar staff were wonderful too! Well done guys, you absolutely made our evening!

I went to this hotel as a guest for the wedding. This place is really nice, they had very good service. Appetisers were really nice. I have slightly different opinion about main meal and dessert. I must admit, however, that the portion was sufficient. Drinks were also very nice. The price of drinks seemed quite high for my partner. In general it was a really good experience. I would recommend this place to someone else as it could be for someone else, even better experience.

We stayed here for our first night, after our wedding! They upgraded us to a suite free of charge, the room was lovely and clean, absolutely massive and had lots of little treats too.The bed was very comfortable with mood lighting. We had a continental breakfast which was simple yet great.Staff were friendly and professional.I would recommend this to anyone staying in Exeter. The hotel is more on the pricey side but you are paying for great quality.

Fantastic place. Had a brilliant spa treatment (1 hour full body massage). The masseuse (Natalie) was friendly, thorough, and very warm. She was great at finding tender or tight spots and working on those areas more - I felt amazing afterwards. Would thoroughly recommend!

We stayed a night while in Exeter and it was very nice. Staff were friendly and attentive, room was very clean and the garden and bistro were very nice. Everything has a fresh modern touch in this lovely old building. Breakfast was very nice too.

Awful weekend away, Arrived at hotel to be informed there was no parking and was advised to go to a nearby car park. 1 and a half hours later I eventually parked and had to walk over half an hour back to hotel where my guests were left waiting.Booked 3 rooms for friends to join us, rooms were small, overpriced and cramped. 1 was dirty and the toilet had clearly not been cleaned. The shower was a dribble of water at best and could only get Luke warm. The reception were pleasant as you would expect but hotel was massively under staffed. Tried ordering drinks but there was only 1 barman who could not keep up and was not taking orders until he caught up. We tried to order food 3 times and was told to come back as he was too busy. When he finally caught up and he could then take our order he advised us the kitchen had unfortunately closed !Absolute embarrassment !Breakfast was terrible, waited 20 minutes for a waiter to take our order and then 40 minutes to finally receive it.Breakfast was cold and bland and all 5 of us left it.We were not offered teas or coffees.Classic Hotel du Vin, lots of potential but there are always issues that are never sorted.I have stayed in 11 of these hotels now and can safely say they were all lacking but Exeter is by far the worst !AVOID AVOID AVOID

Had the single best meal of my decade of veganism here, especially the madeira sautéed mushrooms on toast (I could've had that for all 5 courses and still been exceptionally happy).Plus, had incredible service from all the restaurant staff, from our welcome to our waiters. We really truly appreciated both of our servers but Susie really shone, she was extremely knowledgeable as well as making us giggle and all around making our dining experience just that much more fun and welcoming. 10/10 staff and all round experience, thank you to everyone on shift tonight!

Excellent hotel would recommend it to everyone. The main attraction was the staff from reception, to bar servers and cleaners. You will struggle to meet a nicer people that were so helpful.Breakfast was great to.The only blemish is you have to book parking on site. But not an issue there is a pay and display less that 50m from the hotel

Looks lovely Jen you arrive and the bedrooms are nice.Breakfast was nice(salmon and scrambled egg)but evening meal as inedible and was insulted by the response of staff when 4 of us all went back the same option. It was apparently our fault because we did not understand the menu!! Conference facilities were very poor and uncomfortable seating. I stay in slot of hotels and very rarely complain but the staff were rude unhelpful and snooty, except for two people.

Lovely hotel, a last minute stop off for us en route to Cornwall. We had our dog with us and they looked after him just as much as us. The staff went out of they way to accommodate us and made us all feel very welcome. A little expensive, but as we booked the afternoon of our arrival it’s to be expected, but the service made up for it. Would love to stay again and enjoy a bit more of the facilities.
