Gordon Arms - Pub & Grill
I have not been to this pub for probably 30 years, I was pleasantly surprised, the food was really great. My husband had the mixed grill, which he enjoyed very much, I had the rainbow grain salad, which was very nice, but me personally would have preferred it without the grains. We will definitely be going back again.

Ordered a full English and a hot chocolate. The hot chocolate was amazing, however the full English was a bit lackluster. The bread tasted amazing though.Unfortunately we couldn't get what we actually wanted due to the time restraints on the Sunday roast.

Went for my mums birthday lunch, she ordered whole tail scampi but instead got a cheaper mushier version, my brother ordered steak with side of onion rings (got half an onion battered) asked for peppercorn sauce that didn't turn up and rosemary fries with no rosemary, I had chicken burger asked for extra bacon and got shrivelled up rasher that they cut in half to make 2? And we ordered calamari that was cold and rubbery when we received it. We will not be returning!!

All I can say is what a shame. This pub used to be great but now it’s not good at all. The service was awfully slow. I ordered a drink on the app yet it never turned up. One of our meals, the chicken was clearly out of date and stank, we told the server and all he said was ‘yea sorry about that’ then walked off. Told him again and then he said he will get the manger. We gave it 45 minutes for the manger yet the manager never turned up. So we just got up and left. Don’t know whether it’s a new manager or what but I wouldn’t return.

2nd visit within 4 weeks. Great food - friendly and polite service. For us, a family of 5 is a real treat. Today was a worthwhile treat. Thoroughly enjoyable good value.15th July 2023Our 1st visit in a while, pleased to say the standard of food and service is even better than before.... And before was very good.Could do with a few more low calorie options,and my wife enjoys a lasagne alas not on the menu. However, we'd only had a bagel for breakfast and no lunch... Well done, Lance and the team.

Haven't been here for a few years, but or latest visit means we'll definitely be back. Great to pop in on the way back from ferry meadows. Nice range of food and drinks. Atmosphere is lots better than our last visit, glad to see its back on track

It’s bank holiday weekend, Friday night. But there are only two bar keeps on the job. Allow 15 minutes to get served a drink.If you are a meat eater, no worries. They will grill cows, chickens and salmon.I tried the rainbow grain salad with a small cup of chips and paid £15. It was entree size. Go elsewhere for good value if you want to eat light.
