Absolute joke of a council. You ring up and get pushed from pillar to post, no one seems to know what they're doing or what department you need. After being on hold and put through to 3 different departments I've now had the phone hung up on me. 40 minutes of my life I'll never get back and my issue is still unresolved.

I give five stars for the reason that Rotherham council works for the benefit of the city, but the reception can do better, I have a feeling that the reception was created not to help but to push people away....

Submitted a form online as RMBC prefer you to. Three and a half weeks later they send a paper copy by post of exactly the same form I completed to be filled in again and posted to them. Phoned to query what was going on & waited in a queue for 40 mins to find there has been a technical error at their end & they need paper forms. You couldn't make it up how incompetent they are.

If I could give lower I would. Reading other reviews seems common for the council to ignore genuine processing/training issues which if sorted would make the council a more effective service for everyone. Should be held accountable for their own mistakes then maybe would learn by them

Like many on here, I want to highlight the telephone service is shocking, I could re-write my version of events but it's very similar to lots of other reviews posted.What I will point out though is that your telephone menu system doesn't need to repeat everything at every stage of the menu. Its becomes incredibly frustrating having to sit through the same pre-recorded message over and over again every time I make a selection. Its as mind-numbing as dealing with the council itself.

Navigating this site is a nightmare. Too many departments on one site. Round and round in circles. It's as if you contact them it will cause them work, so they don't want you to do it.

Wanted to talk to someone about gritting a road that is like an ice rink. Families use this road to cut through to get to school quicker and cars to avoid a junction. Many elderly residents too. Gave up after 17 minutes. Went online but still not able to ask questions. Requested a grit bin.
