Not happy with meal as I paid for a carved and when I got to putting the food on the plate then they decided to inform me there was no potatoes I could of been when ordering and then I would of gone somewhere else as I came for a carved not a plate of meat and gravey

Very friendly staff and clean comfortable surroundings.The children’s area is excellent.Unfortunately on our last family visit the carvery meal wasn’t up to standard.The meat was well cooked and delicious, but the vegetables ( frozen soggy sprouts and cauliflower, undercooked parsnips, raw braised tasteless red cabbage, mashed potatoes which wouldn’t leave the serving spoon and crusty mushy peas) were disappointing to say the least!The roast potatoes and carrots were fine.Will definitely give it a miss for a while.

Ordered from the app thinking it would be quicker.... it wasn't. Our server turned up with the food with no greeting or platitudes.We had to ask about our drinks ... we're they coming ? We had been waiting over 40 minutes since we placed our order. Some minutes later, we were told that only bottled soft drinks were available due to no gas. The choice was extremely limited. We asked if these would be offered at the same price, and the response was a shrug of the shoulder.The food was average but possibly could have been better with a drink! Our server didn't return with an answer about the drinks.A member of management ( we knew this as she was dressed not in a uniform)came and asked if everything was OK. Our reply was no, and we explained the scenario. I was looked at as though I spoke a different language ( all 3 of us thought the same). She offered no apology, and at this point, I asked for the drinks to be refunded and accompanied her to the bar. I was told I would be refunded but could offer no receipt. She did offer us 3 soft drinks free.Not a great experience, and I won't be returning

It is a good place with decent service, the food is great, and I recommend the carvery. However if you are looking for a quick bite for dinner/lunch/brunch, I recommend the Louisiana Chicken Gougons Farmhouse Bap. If you ate brave enough for a dessert, there is a decent variety of cakes. Overall I rate Birchwood Farm four stars, after all, it is land of the cakeaways.

Went today for carvery. 7 of us. No one enjoyed it And there were lots of food left on the plates. The pork and the gammon were inedible. Just a plate of fat! The mash didn't even taste of mash and was full of huge lumps. We live in York near another one of this company’s branches and its always been good when we have been. But this was probably the worst Sunday lunch I have ever had !

Great place to breakfast, all you can eat. Good quality fayre for a very reasonable price. Not eaten at aft, eve or night so cannot comment on such. But highly recommended for breakfast.

Came for a carvery . Was very disappointed. Wont be returning. The meat was on ration when asked the chef if that was it he replied he cuts it by weight . He must be good to slice every slice exactly the same . Several customers complained then they said we could go back and have some more . No one did the beef was grisley .

Highly recommended their carvery. Pork is delicious a must try. Kelly (staff) friendly and very helpful, thanks to you. If you visit, make sure you book your seats as they are packed specifically the weekends.Keep it up guys. Definitely we will come back.
