Lansdowne Dental Care

This practice does not accept new NHS patients despite the website stating they are and making you complete an online form.

Been going for years as have my 3 kids and my wife. Can't speak highly enough about the place. My son is very impressed with Gareth who is also my dentist and apart from just being a very friendly guy he is also very professional and just seems to love his job. The hygienist service is also great and the lady that covers that side of things again is friendly and very professional. Amazed there is a comment on here saying they only care about money, I must admit I have never once in my several years of attending this dentist ever thought that way. Top place and I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a friendly and professional dentist practice in the area.

I had my first appointment with LD today and I just say I was hugely impressed. The initial contact form from the website was easy to submit and I was contacted the next day. On the day, the reception staff were friendly and Dr Porteus made me feel very at ease despite not having visited a dentist in a number of years. The recommendation for future treatment was made crystal clear too. Looking forward to a long relationship with LD!

It would be difficult to fault any aspect of this first-class practice, which, despite its obvious excellence, is constantly evolving and improving. to start with, it is easy to make an appointment by phone, and e-mails and text messages will give you reminders before the date. On the due day you enter a handsome nineteenth-century building that is is spacious and decorated with taste. The friendly reception staff show you to a small waiting-room with newspapers and a news channel, though you rarely have time to get beyond the headlines because you never have to wait for very long in what is a very efficient and well-run organisation. That my own dentist, Mr McMorrow, is an excellent clinician (who over the years has carried out a variety of faultless and pain-free dental procedures with me) does not prevent him from taking the time to explain what he is doing, even for the simplest thing, and also to inform me how much a particular treatment will or would cost (for often you are given the choice of different treatments).In other words, I am made to feel involved in my treatment at every stage, while knowing I am in the best of hands and can relax. I cannot recommend this surgery too highly.

Having been a patient for circa 8 + years, I am very pleased with the excellent quality of care and treatment at Lansdowne Practice. I'm registered with Dr. P. McAllister, who is unfailingly careful, helpful and professional. There is keen attention to detail, in every aspect of treatment. All treatments are explained clearly; questions are answered in a candid manner; and choices of treatments are offered. This is much appreciated.

Not recommended, more interested in making money than fixing teeth. NHS treatment was actively discouraged. Both my wife and I had more pain after fillings on private basis, then was suggested that we have further root canal treatment.Lansdowne Dental CareBoth my wife and I returned to rectify the dental pain that was inflicted and the pain only got worse. We used a different dental practice and the pain was resolved withoutRoot canal treatment your dentist was recommending, which we considered either unprofessional and/or in pursuit for business gain.A good dental practice should not emphasise on business gains but efforts should be made to improve dental health, patient satisfaction would be the best recommendation to others. The dentist was aware that I was recovering from a major cancer operation with extensive pains due to side effects, yet she chose to pursue her own agenda and put me through further pain.So I consider that our poor experience should be shared for public protection.RegardsYusuf Chima

Like another review writer I cannot believe there is a negative comment about Landsdowne Dental. I am recently a new patient and could not have received a warmer welcome from all the Team @ Landsdowne. I brought some historical dental problems with me and Dr Gareth McMorrow has done a fabulous job helping me with same. Please be assured of professional services @ Landsdowne from the moment you contact reception.

Can't praise Lansdowne Dental Care/Dr McIntyre highly enough. After terrible experiences with another practice in Glasgow (resulting in a phobia), I was put off visiting dentists altogether until a friend recommended Lansdowne. They've treated me so well that I'm no longer scared of dental work, and they've fixed the botch job on my fillings carried out by the previous practice. Very sensitive to dental phobias, and I've never felt rushed to make way for the next bum on a seat. Fantastic; again, can't recommend them highly enough.
