Knaresborough Exotic Rescue

Can't praise Dan and his volunteer's enough. This place is a much needed rescue, for the ever increasing number of exotics been surrendered or found. This cost of living crisis is hitting the reptile world hard .Dan is unjudgemental and helps where ever possible. The rescue is the only one of it's kind in Yorkshire, and a hands on working rescue. I myself have adopted some of the rescues, and without Dan and his volunteers I dread to think where these would have ended up had it not be for this fantastic rescue.5 star plus

A wonderful little rescue center, that's easily dismissed.It's something of a DIY project, funded through donations. The animals appear to be well looked after, and the staff are informative and enthusiastic.Due to the nature of the business. Animals can change, depending on the ones that they have rescued and those that have gone for adoption.We saw several snakes, lizards, bats, parrots and a tortoise. Many of the reptiles you can touch and hold.

It was amazing just went with my mum and dad and I held many cool reptiles including a 8 foot carpet python and they had many snakes to look at and rehome lovvvved big red in the window

Really can't recommend this place enough. They're one of the only places I trust to take any animal I find without worrying they're going to put them down. If you're looking for a rescue or a charity to support then this is a place I would recommend

I know rescues struggle but that's no excuse not to give the reptiles proper care and decent sized vivariums and regular health checks , this place is a complete joke of a rescue and needs shutting down the owners attitude is something else, also its doesn't take 5 minutes to clean out a birds cage so there's no excuse for mounds of bird mess all over there perches, please for the love of the reptiles and other animals this place really does need SHUTTING DOWN it's over crowded.Also if you haven't got the money to run a rescue don't it's not fair on the animals that have to suffer,Also the owner is rehoming reptiles that have mites and not telling the new owners

I visited on 29th July as I was passing through Knareborough. I was greeted by a delightful volunteer and a small python! The centre rescues and tries to rehome snakes, bearded dragons, parrots. Its a smashing place

Absolutely adored my trip here today. The animals are so clearly loved and taken care of. The employees are very knowledgable and very great at engaging young kids too. The only downside was I don’t have any space back at home to take anything with me lmao! Will definitely be going back!

Amazing place and filled with amazing people, most of which are volunteers. I can't praise this rescue enough for all the hard work they do and the time they put it to making sure all the animals are well. A massive well done to the owner Dan aswell for always doing his best and making sure the animals all have the best while with him and after.
