Recently bought a car from Chicos a BMW convertible sport. I’ve had the car 6 months and I’ve had to take it to a BMW dealership because I have serious engine problems.BMW have stated the problem with my cat would have been there from purchase.When buying the car from Chicos, they stated they took the car out on so-called extensive tests, they found that smoke was coming out of the engine and said the turbo had gone and that they would fit a brand new one before I picked it up. I took the car home within three weeks of having the car. The oil light came on. I just thought it was just low so I put a liter of oil. A month later they oil light came on again, knowing nothing about cars, I just thought that the oil was low so I topped up again, a month later we will light came on the game , I was slightly concerned that this, I’ve never had to do this before so I booked it into a BMW garage as I lived 200 miles away from Chicos and the advice they gave me was to book it into BMW carriage and if was anything wrong come back to them.BMW then stated that the oil cap was broken and they had replaced it and they thought that that’s why I was losing oil. A month later they were all light came on again. I was obviously outside my warranty at this point, I booked in against BMW as I wasn’t happy with her diagnosis they took my car for two days and said that they feel that the problem that was originally there with the smoke after taking it for a long drive, Was still there and would’ve been there from purchasing the car from the beginning and I had some serious engine problems that would now cost me between £6000 to £8000I contacted Chicos when I first went to BMW. They told me to send them a timeline of the issues Which I did do. They have said that they cannot help me even though the problem is clearly been stated from BMW that it’s been there since I purchased the car . I now have a car that I cannot drive on a £13,000 loan I am an NHS nurse I live 25 miles away from my job and it’s affected all of my life in a negative way.Chicos’s response was you were out the warranty we can’t help you. I suggest that you think carefully before buying a car from this company

I recently bought a 2014 Vw Tiguan Bluemotion from them that i found on autotrader, i made initial contact to see if the car was available and find out some basic information which Phil managed to answer all my questions with ease and guided me through the finance and how to apply. After taking a deposit for the car and processing the finance it took a week for the car to have a fresh 12 months mot, service and valet. I bought the car unseen online and the car was better than described when i went to collect the car from them, Phil explained everything we had to sign and what the warranty does and doesn't cover also the car had 1/4 of a tank of fuel which helped and also was immaculate inside and out! I highly recommend Chico's garage of Plymouth and Phil was the best car sales person i have ever dealt with, he was never pushy, let me make the final decision without forcing the car down my throat and explained everything that was happening every step of the way!

AVOID!!! Bought a car in December 2022 engine management light came on the next day took it back to be told it was a dpf sensor it then developed an oil problem! It went into Chicco’s garage in Feb 2023 two months later for the sensor to be replaced and the oil problem sorted they had my car 2 months was given a courtesy car which had dead flies in! My car basically had an engine rebuild needed piston rings replacing plus a new dpf sensorCustomer services were shocking Phil never kept me updated I always had to ring themI made a complaint to my finance company Moto novo in the March! Go my car back in April 19th and by August it had started making a horrendous noise and was undriveableI then reopened my first complaint for a second time it had an independent inspection doneI finally won my battle to reject the car this month Nov turns out fuel injectors had gone it 100% after the miles the car had done at the time of purchase and the miles we had done should not of had this problem especially after the major work that had been doneThe inspection couldn’t determine wether chiccos were at fault but I still won my case and the car got collected last weekI would never buy from them again I had the car 11 months and for 5 months it was broken! They dragged there heels to fix the first problem and then used my warranty I took out when the problem occurred the very next day within the 3 months warranty time!! Shocking!
