Practical Car & Van Rental Swindon

I hired a van from Practical Car & Van Rental, when I went to return van, they want to charge me from a small scratch no top rear of the vehicle which was old, it was nothing to do with me.I parked van on own driver overnight to make sure it does not get damage, there is no tree in my street.I already reported to trading standard and to my credit card company, I am waiting their response, before I put on all on Swindon Social media groups, to find out how many other people’s they charged in the pass.

Thieves !!!! AVOID AT ALL COSTSUnfortunately I had to give them one star. They deserve none.Having notified the business I would be late due to an overturned vehicle mixed with being in the middle of a nationwide fuel crisis, over 10 stations with no fuel, I was late arriving back.They have proceeded to charge another day, even though they said they would be there when I arrived. I arrived earlier than the updated time of arrival and there was no one there.Complete money grabbing company with little or no morals, or dealing with customers who are late at no fault of their own. Instead of being logical and dealing with a current climate of issues for drivers, their response is that’s policy.I have hired from 4 other companies nationwide since and asked them what they would do, none … NONE agreed with how Practical in Swindon have gone about their poor business.But to charge an extra day when the vehicle was used for less than 24 hours, struggling to find any fuel, and stuck on a motorway due to a white 4x4 on its roof. Hardly fair, nor ethical charging me.I know it’s been a difficult time for all, but don’t fleece customers at no fault of their own!I will happily post emails, call logs, and 999 call I made regarding the crash if needed.AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Very slick process, Monika is very professional and handles the paperwork really quickly. Van was perfect for my requirements.

I needed to hire a van at short notice when my car went for unexpected repairs. Practical Car and Van were able to supply just what I needed at a reasonable price and they were a pleasure to deal with. Would certainly use them again.

Easy booking system, price competitive, great customer care from both Shon & Monika. Vehicles are clean, tidy and even smell good! Great all round! Unlike some other van companies actually has the vans in stock that are on their website. Great van easy to drive all worked as it should, good and clean. Good value but keep an eye for the mileage charge, it’s on the website I just didn’t look! I went just under 200 miles over the allowance which cost me £37 so not bad, though, overall.Lastly, Monika who was there on the Monday and Wednesday this week was absolutely brilliant. Great customer service, friendly, bubbly and great at what she does. Well done all round :)

Unfortunately I did not have the best experience, I needed a van urgently and they did have a van I booked it on a Saturday morning before they were open they charged me £30 deposit, I managed to find a friend to take me instead so proceeded to cancel the order I asked about the return of the deposit and was told no I needed to give 24 hours notice, I don't see how that is possible when I only had the van ordered that morning and cancelled within 30 mins. I was definitely not impressed and would not use again, seems a bit of a scam really and would not recommend

Booking the required van for a house move was simple and straightforward.On the day of picking up the van, Monika was extremely polite, courteous, very helpful and professional - Thank You Monika.The vehicle was in excellent condition throughout.If you want to hire a van in the Swindon area, I recommend using Practical Car and Van Rental.5 *****

Called ahead to check the van was ready, got to site and waited 45 minutes doing paperwork. Went to inspect the van an noticed the rear light was smashed and showing white light instead of an indicator. I asked if the lense could be replaced as it's illegal to drive with white lights showing on the rear of the vehicle and their policy clearly states any infringement is payable by the renter and they refused. The young lady was most unhelpful. Never mind because Swindon car and van managed to sort me out after this appalling experience with practical Swindon. Won't ever use practical hire again. Funniest thing was when she tried to tell me I couldn't have my deposit back. (I never even got to use the van). What a disorganized bunch of Muppets

I hired a van from Practical Car & Van Rental, when I went to return van they told me everything is Ok just for me to realize later that the deposit of £250 was not returned.I parked van on own driver overnight to make sure it does not get damage, there is no tree in my street.I already reported to trading standard and to my credit card company I am being ignored by practical car Hire and they have charged me £500.They cant even provide evidence for the one scratches when asked to sent me a picture. They say you can't see it on the picture.I will have to take them to court as it was payed by a debit card
