Independent arts venue in Whitley Bay. Comedy, theatre, live music. DJs too, great to have somewhere to go dancing on a weekend! Very reasonable drinks prices too.

We recently celebrated my friends 50th birthday at the Laurels with a bottomless brunch in their restaurant followed by disco and karaoke in the bar. From start to finish , everyone went above and beyond to making the day one to remember. The food was delicious, the drinks were kept flowing and the music was absolutely brilliant. I cannot recommend them as a venue highly enough. If you are looking for a great place to celebrate a special occasion the Laurels is the place to be !!!!

Amazing venue / watering hole featuring the warmest of welcomes and I cannot stress this enough some of the funniest pearls of wisdom written on the walls of any gents toilet in the UK to enjoy. We wandered into a Silent Disco Night that featured moves normally associated with a good tasering. This place should be on everybody's bucket list. Unmissable

Went to last night's show and had a brilliant night. The drink prices were good, staff were great and we saw some hilarious acts. The compere was excellent and I would strongly suggest people get out and support venues like this, we're really lucky to have it on our doorstep! We will definitely be back soon.

If you love raw theatre and up and coming or even experienced acts/productions Laurels is the place to go. Cozy theatre and great service. Pint of Cider was £4.25 which I didn't think was too bad compared to town. Went to see Robin Armstrong's live show and had a cracking night! Will definitely book again for other shows

First visit to see Gerry and Sewell" last night and won't be our last! Outstanding performance by all three actors and can't recommend enough. As people have already pointed out

Just been to see You Need To Say Sorry by Alison Stanley. Hard hitting, brilliantly acted, gut wrenching portrayal of domestic violence involving older people. Excellent opening for the upcoming 16 days of action and a great opportunity to support White Ribbon's work to help boys and men to respect women and girls. Powerful and moving- go and see it if you get the chance and tell your friends. Domestic violence has no place in our community and, as a community, we need to show that.

Had a really great evening. The show was great and the place had a great atmosphere. The staff were so friendly although the bar was a little short staffed at the beginning of the evening before the show. Only other issue was there was no air con and the place was so hot
