I can highly recommend Dr Raman Kalyan. After suffering with back pain for 7 years and getting nowhere through other specialists, I finally bit the bullet and sought his help. On diagnosis that i had a badly herniated disc and two others with degenerative arthritis, I received three spinal injections from Dr Kalyan. Over the course of the next 4 weeks, the pain gradually subsided and i got my life back. Dr Kalyan gave me good advice for the future, with regard to keeping fit and active, without aggravating my back further and therefore avoiding unnecessary surgery.

After suffering for almost 23 years with my spine ,having to take various pain killers and trying all sorts of therapies i decided i could not wait any longer. I was referred to Dr Kalyan , after contacting Nuffield York .No messing with this Doctor.X-rays in front of him , explained that the first step was spinal injections , 4 to be precise. Mr Kalyan diagnosed my herniated disc and later treated it with a steroid injection that took effect on the same day! He is (very) straight to the point and clear on what you need to do to care for your back. If I had any questions he (and his team) always came straight back to me - very reassuring.

Having had one nerve root block for a prolapse disc without success I sought a second opinion from Mr Kalyan. He offered me the options of another nerve root block or surgery. His approach was more thorough than my previous consultant - with injections in three positions in my back. This proved to be the correct route and my nerve pain has improved 100%. Mr Kalyan also gave me advise on how to minimise the risk of further issues and to help me manage my further recovery. Very glad to have made contact with Mr Kalyan following my earlier poor results elsewhere.
