July 2023: I have been here often in the last couple of months. The staff are always helpful and the wait is never excessive. This is a well run site that is easy to use. Thank you all.

Stevenage Recycling Centre
I frequently use this recycling centre and have always found the staff very helpful and friendly. Today was a great example of this. I would like to thank a lovely chap called Nigel who helped me lift a heavy item which I couldnt possibly manage by myself. Also a very helpful female member of staff there has assisted me many times. Many thanks for the great work you all do.

Confused often by what rubbish goes where. Staff often too keen to use policies that may or may not exist and ask for payment. Then they blame it all on the council.

Be prepared to wait. For some reason they close for 45 mins at random in middle of day to “change trucks”. Given they only open at 10am, surely the time to do this before they open. Then again, it’s run by the council so we shouldn’t expect them to use their brains.

Good area. Usually staff are kind and helpful, but recently I came across a very rude staff member who treated me like a criminal when I arrived late to buy an item. I was really so disappointed. To crown it all it was the second time in one week he behaved this way towards me and could not go unnoticed. Please whatever your name is, treat everyone with respect irrespective of their ethnic background.

Every time you go there - no matter what time of day and whichever day of the week - you'll always find two doughnuts in high vis jackets telling you the place is closed. No wonder you see so much fly tipping.

No queue at all. Well organised and friendly staff. Great!

Pretty well organised, and easy to find where most things should go. Can get quick busy but well managed to not cause too much of a problem, though sometimes can be queueing for awhile especially at weekends. Dropped it a star as wish they would update when it is closed to refresh the bins.
