As a small independent landlord for the past 8 years I have found the services of SAL invaluable in helping me through the minefield of legislation and red tape that goes with the territory. Before we took over 3 properties in our area I asked friends who let out rooms to students a) is this a good idea? and b) any advice, the answer was join SAL so we did and even with recent price increases its worth every penny. Just knowing help is at hand at the end of the phone and documents, templates and courses all available. Thank you SAL - couldn't have managed this far along without you.

Great support for landlords, with very useful forms and guidance to help me manage my properties. I have used the helpline and the advice was very accurate and tailored to my exact needs. There are regular Zoom calls and newsletters which keep me up to date with legislative and other changes to the sector. The membership fee is great value for money and has paid for itself easily.

I was a small landlord with one property. I joined SAL when we encountered some difficult tenants who were not paying rent and I wasn't sure about how to proceed correctly to ensure that I was acting within the most up-to-date regulations. The expert team guided me through the eviction process. I had spent endless hours researching but I still had questions and their help was absolutely invaluable. I cannot recommend highly enough.

I joined SAL just over a month ago as we had given our tenant notice to leave and they informed me I would need to obtain an Eviction Order. With all the new legislation etc I was struggling to obtain the necessary procedures and paperwork to process. From the minute joining I have had first class service with all aspects of this procedure. Friendly efficient and professional service. I do not know how I never joined years ago. I would thoroughly recommend any Landlord to join.

Becoming a member of SAL is by far the best decision and money spent I have taken in my journey of being a landlord. I have had numerous challenges including non payment of rent, ASBOs, not getting access to property, damage to property, etcetera, etcetera.I have had no help from the councils in managing difficult tenancies and my mental health was affected over a period of 2 years.The Scottish Association of Landlords have helped me immensely since joining a few months ago. They have supported me through addressing the numerous issues identified above and to take appropriate legal action. I feel a huge sense of relief since I have had their support. I highly recommend SAL to all Scottish Landlords. Don’t waste time trying to Google and doing it all yourself. I found that out to my detriment. Best wishes

I called the SAL to see if they could help me with a problem tenant - 3 month's arrears, flat a mess, evidence of drug use, etc. They were fantastic, helped me put together the 'notice to quit' and really supported me through a challenging situation. Caroline and Gail were brilliant. And it worked! I have got the flat back, secured an offer on the property and have no more stress dealing with a nightmare tenant! Thank you SAL!

We recently had a requirement for legal advice. The Scottish Association of Landlords (SAL) were able to provide details of several solicitors and one, in particular, was able to help us immediately. We were very grateful for SAL's suggestions and prompt assistance - as always!

As both a letting agent and landlord in the Scottish private rented sector I find the Scottish association of landlords invaluable with their updates, information and ability to speak plainly and offer guidance to the most complex of issues.I would advice every landlord and letting agent in the private rented sector to become a member. The yearly fee it is worth it for the information available to download , the additional webinars, news, Scottish government updates, events are a welcome added bonus in what seems like a slightly depressing sector at the moment.
