Nothing was too much trouble, thanks to the new management team. Food was great, as was the service. A lovely, welcoming place.

Friendly customer service, in a comfortable atmosphereIt is a space of shelter that can be visited by family, friends.Seasonal food and outdoor and indoor tables taste a variety of apples, including a variety of real ales, lagers and ciders, wines, soft drinks and coffees. Our tru likes it, too.

Great place, nicely central but tucked away enough to avoid the chaos. Nice food, atmosphere, and friendly staff. Decent amount of parking. Kid and dog friendly. Well worth having a trip out too.

Played gigs there a few times, the atmosphere was lovely and kind and the staff were helpful. The prices of drinks weren’t too bad either. Lovely decoration in there, very unique.

Friendly staff especially Katie. Was a bit disappointed with the gravy served with the lamb shoulder which I ordered. Serving staff did apologise. As a chef, I taste my sauces before I send them out to guests.

we went here for an evening meal. I was able to take my dog with me to save him whinning at home. My friend had the burgers after a starter of chilli prawns and nachos. Both my husband and i picked items which were sold out earlier, namely sea bass and cumberland sausages. So we had to settle for haddock and chips and chargilled chicken salad. The fish was excellent, the batter really crispy. The salad was nice but the chargrilled chicken was a bit dry, but there was a willing participant under the table who thought it better than the applaws i had bought for him. A band started playing at 21.00. Songs i actually recognised from my school days. Too noisey for the husband, he was straight out the door.Overall an enjoyable evening.

I booked a table for 9 people 2 months in advance for my mums 70th birthday. On the day got told to order starters as mains will take ages due to there being a booking for 30 people. This table was obviously priority over anyone else.We were told the starter would be out after 15 mins then were told another 15 mins. Then an hr and half after we had got there we had to ask for the kids meals to be bought out ASAP as it was now gone 2 and they were hungry and restless. The burgers were dry and the pie and sausage and mash came out drowning in gravy. After having a positive experience in the summer we felt very let down so left and went home to let the children run around and to have the cake which was specially made for our mum as we couldn't make them wait any longer.

Went for lunch, and it was a very pleasant experience. The beef and ale pie was delicious, and the accompanying mash and vegetables (and gravy) spot on. Beautifully presented too. Service just right - attentive but not intrusive. Impressed. Would (probably will!) go again.
