CHESTERS AT VALE
I was pleasantly supprised by the food at Chesters. It was hot and fresh. I ordered the fish and chips meal with a choice of sauce. The fish was cooked fresh (cod) the chips were really good. I'd have preferred the the curry sauce to be served seperat as it was poured over the chips. But overall it was a good value meal for a service station just off th M1

Amazing fish and chips, really impressed with the size and quality of the fish. Decor is fabulous and really sets the scene. Will certainly be coming back again. Takeaway and dine in available. The children's games room was also nice to see.Be sure to enter your car details when entering the restaurant.An OAP menu is also available.

Lovely meal at Chesters at Markham Vale, cod, scampi, battered sausage and burger, everyone really enjoyed it and we had a terrific server who was so kind, attentive and friendly. We'll definitely visit again and a bonus is that they cater for celiac too

Lovely fish and Chips and a great drive thru.We went in the opening week so it is really busy, I would definitely book if you are wanting to sit in as it can certainly get very busy. The drive thru was very busy too!!Food was great and a variety of food on the menu not just fish and chips. Would recommend and some nice decor inside and out too!

I’ve been 3 times since opening.First time, I had no problems at all.Second time I just wanted kebab meat, no chips and was told I would have to park up if I didn’t want chips (there wasn’t any car parking spaces so I left) I was happy to pay for the box meal but I don’t want to waste chips that I wasn’t wanting to eat.Third time, the portion of the chips were small (compared to the exact same meal I had the first time) and I asked if I could pay for garlic mayo, at first I was told that I could only have normal mayo at the drive through but then I heard someone else tell the person on the headset that I could have garlic mayo.Also don’t get a lemonade on the drive thru, it was clearly a cheapo and tasted vile.I don’t understand the weird rules of you can’t have one thing on the drive thru but if you park up you can have it in the store, seems to defeat the whole point of a drive thru.However, the actual taste of the food is by far the best in the area.

I've used all three service here, the takeaway, restaurant and the drive through.We've never been disappointed, all food is cooked fresh to order the portions are brilliant and the prices are good for the quality of food you receive. Its better than all the alternatives that are next to it. Highly recommended ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Total cost for this was £12! Can’t actually believe that this ‘kebab’ costs £7.50 on drive thru you don’t get side salad or pitta, with the side options are beans gravy or curry sauce I asked for chilli sauce in a pot (that I have always asked and never had been a problem elsewhere)… arrive home to it thrown all over the kebab as well as salt and vinegar all over both chips when I asked for them plain. Children’s meal £4.50 yet you don’t get a side of beans, gravy or anything else. I’ve been here a few times since opening and thought it may be teething issues, however what I will say is the staff are extremely RUDE! The girl on the drive thru headset today (tall, thin & glasses) was absolutely rude no please, thank you or even service with a smile and also to the car behind me whilst I was waiting at the door even the way they speak to each other in there is rude, the other young girl is just as bad (asian, long dark hair). I understand there is pressure when opening but work in a restaurant therefore at least pretend you like your customers. I would not recommend going to Chester’s at Markham. Sheffield road on the other hand, absolutely lovely the staff can’t be any more pleasant. Such a shame as I was looking forward to this opening for so long and literally live round the corner. Won’t be making the mistake for the 4th time of visiting this store.Management: First impressions last & this isn’t a good one.REVIEW EDIT:The owner is so argumentative on reviews, what you’re saying below absolutely didn’t happen. If it was you who serviced you was rude… saying you have CCTV to prove you wasn’t is just ridiculous, just take the feedback and do better. How about a ‘Thank you for your feedback we will take this onboard’ why do you have to write an essay being passive aggressive! EMBARRSSING!

Maybe I've just been unlucky here but out of 3 visits I have only been happy with 1 meal out of the three.1st visit - I asked for medium chips and homemade fishcake. Medium chips were fine in a medium sized box and enough to share with one other person - the homemade fishcakes are absolutely lovely - no issues.2nd visit - Drivethrough - what I got for £6 was rubbish. Instead of filling the box with chips and putting the fishcake on top they put the fishcake in the box and the chips at the side, thank god I had bread at home otherwise I would have still been hungry. When I get a box meal from other chip shops I never need bread as there's enough without it.3rd visit (tonight) - Paid for medium chips and no way was I given medium chips, it was a small box and not enough to feed one person nevermind two !! Again, thank god I had bread !!I won't be going back - Gave it 3 tries and was really disappointed twice. I can get just as good for cheaper elsewhere.I don't get the service part either, it's as hectic as anything with staff running around and almost banging into each other - would rather stand in a queue and be served like a traditional chippy.I really really wanted to like this place as I live very local but sadly that's not the case.Nobody likes average reviews and I don't like writing them but I'm afraid I have to be truthful here. Ive given 3 stars because the food is lovely and that can't be faulted, but consistency when it comes to portion sizes and what customers pay for and are sent home with is really important.

Very convenient, good food, friendly service and a really attractive restaurant.Recommend the Steak Pie, was really tasty.Chips were nice but a bit gritty(skin on) which is completely normal, just not my preference.My Son had sausage and chips box meal (pic) he enjoyed it and portion size was good.Great price point and quick service.
