Initially i was booked to have an appointment in the Warwick University Santander branch. An interesting choice for Santander to make considering that branch is closed until September. However, a charming discussion with a helpful chap ensured me that they will sort it out and see what they can do!I then received a call from the manager at Coventry Santander apologizing for the mix up, and that if i bring the required evidences they will happily change my account status to student. Roll on coming to the bank the same day and expecting as told to meet said manager, they were no were to be seen. Infact I was met by 2 ladies that tried their best, but every question i asked, they had to go and interrupt someone elses meeting to find out an answer. I was not confident that anything would be successful from this visit.However assured that my overdraft would be converted to being interest free and the same amount of £2000, within 5 days (which i currently have) i felt somewhat reassured.Having now checked my account online (same day), i find that despite already being a second year student, they wont change my account until September 2019, which perhaps i don't need to say is not infact 5 days... Apparantly 2018 looks uncannily like 2019 and despite me saying and actually pointing to the numbers on the paper, they couldn't quite understand it is no longer 2018. Moreover, when this change eventually does occur, I am delighted to say they have successfully managed to infact reduce my overdraft down to 1150 from 2000 and actually give me a worse rate of interest on my overdraft than i had. Not exactly interest free.A pathetic and embarrasing failiure on all accounts; customer service, professionalism (being constantly interrupted by other customers and the staff i was dealing with walking off), actual execution of your job... You quite literally got everything wrong and made a situation which you had all ready created, far worse. Finally you gave me completely false information which has infact seriously affected my ability to partake in my studies.Well done, a real top effort.

The staff here were excellent.When I went into the store for the first time to open an account, a lady at the front explained what to do, how to do it and where to go which was brilliant. Every time I have gone in I have had no issues with depositing money.Even when I had an issue with my money, we went into store and this was rectified within a few daysBrilliant store, hopefully the move to online banking won’t happen too soon!

Very rude manager who needs to learn about giving good customer service and how to deal with people when they're understandably irritated. Be prepared to be asked to leave when you're making a rightful claim

Provided personal details and a change of account form to a staff member. Santander LOST the form and do not know what has happened. WHAT is even this??? Am I about to have my money stolen because you misplaced some paper? How can you not know where sensitive forms are???
