NOT GREAT AT ALL1. Website say 20% off for blue light holder. this was not honoured.2. Parents had to move rooms twice because of horrible smell and then faulty plumbing3. Bar down stairs had love DJ on ALL NIGHT. It is horrible. SO LOUD.4. Most staff helpful and nice but a few have been rude, unhelpful, don't know any basic information about the hotel or the area.NOT RELAXINGNO SLEEPUNFAIR to promote discounts that aren't upheld. To promote a relaxing break and then have a live music on until midnight so we couldn't sleep.Will never be back.

Lovely venue. Service was good. Wait for for food was a little slow. Especially when people who came in after and ordered the Same thing got their food before us. We had to ask. No disabled toilet near the bar for my dad. The walk to the nearest disabled is quite far for someone struggling with mobility. But we would choose to go again overall.

We stayed one night for an event at the HCC for which this hotel is ideally placed.Having stayed here a few times when it was the St. George, I have to say the transformation is amazing. The new bars and dining areas are very nicely done.That said, it's weird that there appears to be no dedicated staff on the hotel side of things. Check-in and out is done at the bar with the bar staff, and we were unsure who the point person was if anything needed attending to in the room, particularly out of hours. To be honest, it made us, as hotel guests, feel valued less.The bar food was good if a little sparse for the money. You order at the bar, and there seemed too few staff for a busy Saturday afternoon, so getting served took a while.Cannot fault the room. It was a good size. It didn't feel pokey. Everything provided was clean and worked. Buffet breakfast next morning was very nice.All in all we would stay here again. There is nothing inherently bad about the rebrand to put us off. We would, however, appreciate hotel guests being treated as such, with a hotel-style welcome and service.

Great location, always been a good Harrogate stay. So, comments are based on 4 night stay and the fact it has just reopened and may well return to its previous best. Sadly, lots of work to do. Bedroom was not very big and they've tried to cram in too much furniture. Barely room to sit at desk as chair jammed in by bed. Couldn't open wardrobe door properly due to armchair in way. Handle missing from shower door and shower door seal on backwards thus causing water to leak out onto bathroom floor. Toilet flush needed gently nudge to stop it continually refilling. Lift didn't work. First morning, hot breakfasts were all cold. Evening bar staff were either very inexperienced or irritated by the volume of patrons. Service was slow, they didn't know how to make some drinks and what looked like the 'supervisor' wasn't very attentive to guests or junior staff. Fingers crossed for improvements but some work to be done!

Beautiful bar area with delicious lunches.Friendly, helpful staff.Mediocre breakfast, poor coffee, went elsewhere second morning.While in my room with the do not disturb on the door, another guest walked in who had been checked in to my room.No phones in the rooms so i called the central hotel phone number who couldn't reach reception so I had to physically go downstairs.Almost constant drone from outside from fans or whatever throughout the night. Couldn't leave the window open due to kitchen smells.Didn't affect me on 1st floor but lift appeared to be out of order the 3 days I was there.Uncomfortable bed, almost rolling out few times through the night.Hotel reception being in the bar not appreciated.Disappointing stay as the initial impression was so good. 1st & last stay for me.

The location is superb. You're not far away from all that Harrogate has to offer.The rooms are clean and well appointed.However the restaurant facilities (buffet breakfast and a la carte lunch evening menus) are shambolic. So much so that it ruined what would otherwise have been a really great stay. We have already booked to visit Harrogate again, as we absolutely loved it, but with a different hotel...)

Personal view, room was clean but cracked ceiling and noisy due to service rooms been adjacent. Staff were excellent and very friendly always tried to make our stay enjoyable. Food was good and well priced for Harrogate, buffet breakfast excellent again good choice and quality. Bars were rather noisy after a bit would benefit from making one of the rooms music free to allow conversation. Parking is rather tight but available. Lift out of order and no room service or would be a 5 star review. Would recommend again staff excellent

Very lovely location, staff are very helpful. Rooms are okish. I had to go downstairs to the reception 3 times to ask for towels as none was in the room. No phones in the room, try to contact the reception via my mobile no answer, I had to put my clothes on and go down stairs again as the give us only one bath towel. Restaurant food is OK but staff are very good. Breakfast is fine but one I asked for a sachet of coffee to add to my coffee, the lady said she have to charge us for filter coffee. However when I mentioned that to the manger, she was very kind and waved the charges. I will go back but you have to be specific in your requirements as my husband has to walk the steps which was difficult as left is not working.
