Arenig Fawr - Bothy

Stayed in this bothy recently.Fairly easy 2km cycle ride from the main road.As others have said, the place is tiny; the bench will sleep one person. To give an idea of scale, my thermarest is a standard length Neoair, it just fitted.I was fortunate and had the place to myself.Fire has poor draw and will smoke. Plenty of space outside for camping.Has a phone signal on EE and Vodafone; rare for a bothy

Great bothy for small people, at 5'6 I can lie on the bed anyone taller would struggle. Great clean place"

We spent a night here after an evening hike. The location is lovely and a nearby layby (About two miles with a walk down an access road) would offer parking for those curious about trying bothies.The space inside is pretty small but was more than enough room for the two of us. Be aware that this isn't a hotel or an insulated building. If you're going to stay here you'll need to bring the proper equipment. It was around 1°C on the inside (Late October)If you're hiking in, consider bringing supplies to leave in the Bothy. Things like Bottled Water, Firewood and Matches are always useful.

Great little bothy with 2 raised beds/wooden benches either side of the fire can sleep 3 at a push wouldn't recommend sleeping on the floor as it can get wet if not all ready when arriving.

Very small bothy which would really only sleep one, unless u want to get Very, very close.

Fantastic place, one of my favourite places

My friend and I spent the night at this bothy and it was totally amazing. Lovely little place. The weather was awful outside. But sitting in front of the open fire was magical and truly tranquil..

Went to check it out today so we can plan a night wild camping.Very easy to find. Just follow the track up to the reservoir.There are emergency supplies in there, food and water, as well as a fireplace with some pallet blocks to burn.I'm planning a trip soon so it's awesome that this little shelter is there for anyone that get into trouble.
