The distillery tour is fantastic as you get to see the whole whisky making process and our guide was really interesting as he clearly has a passion for making whisky (and gin and rum!) which made the tour great fun. Everyone from complete beginners to experts will enjoy the tour as the description of all the different stages and history of the site is done really well and you get to see everything up close and personal with plenty of time to ask questions. The tasting room has a cozy log burner and even though they have only been up and running for about 5 years the whisky is already tasting fantastic so I'm looking forward to their future bottlings as they continue to grow and begin to release age statement whiskys.

Had a great day visiting the distillery today. Really friendly staff and a knowledgeable and engaging guide. The tasting was lovely too and we loved the free whiskey glasses to take home! This is a cracking young distillery and you can feel the love they put into their products and the passion they have for their craft. They also have a fantastic green ethic. Loved every minute.

Wonderful distillery next to the river Derwent by the A6 Matlock Road.Their Specialty is Whisky but Gin lovers will be pleased to know they have a range of Gins beside their Whisky offering and a some Cask Aged Rum. There are Gin tasters available if you would like to try before you buy. You can also get a discount on Gin refills if you bring your empty bottle back!Well worth the trip.

It was an amazing experience for my family. Sarah was kind and charming and has deep knowledge about everything happening around there. We tasted whiskey, gin and rum they produce at the end of the tour. It’s a premium brand, so the price tag. But after tasting the new to the market product Necessary Evil, I had to take one home!

I had the pleasure of taking part in the White Peak Distillery tour with a friend on a snowy Saturday afternoon in March. It was mainly groups of 2/3 guys, but it was a really friendly atmosphere. The tour was just the right length, the structure was well planned and our tour guide Tom was extremely knowledgeable and welcoming. His passion for the product was clear and evident in the tasting session after the tour, and again his knowledge was absolutely top notch; both of the White Peak Distillery products, and the wider whisky market.Overall, a highly recommended visit, and one that I would definitely do again.

Went on the whisky tour today for my Dad's birthday and thoroughly enjoyed it. Tom, our tour guide, was very attentive and knowledgeable and the time flew by. My mum hadn't been well and they were more than happy to position seats in various areas so she could rest. At one point my mum couldn't climb the stairs and Tom made sure someone stayed with her and answered any questions she had. Great customer service and a great experience. We can't wait to go back in a couple of years when the whisky has matured further. Thank you to Tom and the team.

Brilliant Distillery Tour by our excellent guide, Dave. Both him and the rest of the staff were really friendly, always smiling when they walked past which is always pleasant to see. The girl in the distillery shop (so sorry I didn't get your name!) was also pleasant and welcoming, and served up some brilliant coffee, which was much needed as I drove from Manchester to attend the 11:00am tour.Dave went into great detail during the tour, and this being my 9th tour of a whisky distillery, I have to say I still learnt a few things that weren't covered by other distilleries on their tours, which was quite fascinating. Dave spoke about the different enzymes used during the whisky making process, and even gave us the names of them, as well as the different yeast strains, and explained their function as part of the process. I really enjoyed how thorough the tour was, and how Dave seemed genuinely passionate about the process of crafting each of their spirits. He was also very patient, and always happy to answer the many questions we had as a group throughout. The tasting at the end was very fun too, with Dave talking through each of the spirits in more detail, and recommended mixers which go well with their Gin and Rum.The distillery itself is also a very interesting place, with plenty of history which was briefly touched upon by Dave at the beginning of the tour also. After the tour, I had a good walk around the surrounding area and woodlands, which were stunning at this time of the year, and I'd highly recommend it just to get a feel for the area, as the distillery itself only occupies around 10% of the entire Wire Works site, as explained by Dave. Do bear in mind there are also other businesses on the site too, occupying other buildings, so there are certain areas which are off limits.Dave explained they'll likely introduce a hand filled bottling that you fill yourself, along with a possible Distillery Exclusive bottling in the near future.Overall I was very impressed with the experience, and will definitely be back to see what direction this new distillery is headed. Thanks again to all those at White Peak Distillery for making my trip to the distillery a worthwhile experience.

Great place to visit. The guided tour is an absolute must! We were shown around by Tom who has an amazing knowledge of the products and procedures. The icing on the cake is the tasting session at the end, again Tom was very helpful and informative. We purchased a bottle of the whisky cocktail which is gorgeous. Thanks for a great time we will return when next in the area.Would definitely recommend

Very interesting tour, the staff were incredibly knowledgeable and happy to answer questions. Tour was interactive, seeing the different stages of production and what is required to become rum, gin or whiskey. The tasting was formal, personally would prefer with a glass of water as well or over ice but it was a lovely variety. Nice gift idea
