There is a lovely public footpath along the river wall that goes through the boatyard. I recommend the small cafe on the deck of HMS Vale, enjoy the view over breakfast.

Fantastic friendly service. Great for grit blasting and advice re osmosis treatment. Very knowledgeable team on all aspects of marine engineering. Highly recommend.

Excellent boat restaurant. Good food. But you have to climb backwards down ladder for the toilet !!

Best Boatyard on the East Coast. Fully stocked chandlery, pontoon moorings, 40 ton travel hoist, excellent heated showers, and an on site cafe and bar (HMS Vale).Family run business, nothing is too much trouble.

Former ts lord Nelson, begins new life as HMS vale, converted into riverside cafe at Melton boatyard on the deben estuary also on the Sutton hoo trail, well worth a visit
