We stayed one night before going to Bristol airport. The receptionist was lovely and welcoming and the food in the restaurant was lovely. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere

The Hobbs Boat
Visited the Hobbs Boat this evening and had to come straight on here to let everyone know how wonderful our experience was! Our waitress Maisie was absolutely lovely and gave us outstanding service with a smile. Mike the manager was also always on hand to help and give us all a laugh. The food was delicious and our group had a thoroughly enjoyable evening. We will be back very soon!

We visited on a quiet weekday evening and first impressions were great.A welcoming, warm and nicely decorated restaurant. We were seated quickly and our drinks were perfect. However once our food came out things didn't go so well.One of the dishes was fine but the other (a festive burger) was poor. The meat was dry and overcooked to the point it couldn't even be cut with a knife.Despite there only being two other tables with customers on, no one bothered to come over to ask how our food was, all the staff were too busy gossiping/chatting at the bar.Only when we'd finished the food did the waitress ask how it was by which point it was too late. My partner said how bad it was and the waitress went away, but never came back.So we told another waitress who came back and reluctantly said they'd refund part of the meal.This wasn't what we wanted and instead we had to argue for the whole dish to be refunded, not only because of how poor it was, but also because of how the situation was dealt with and the total lack of attentiveness during our meal.Not once did the manager bother to step out from behind the bar to apologise or speak to us about the situation. They completely failed in their duties and instead put the waitress in a visibly awkward situation.The whole response to it was poor, and a shame as we intended to return later in the week but decided not to.

Excellent food, freshly prepared and served within a wonderful atmosphere, by knowledgeable friendly staff. A really good selection of food with a cheaper lunchtime offer made this really good value for money. Maisie, our waitress was lovely and ensured our meal was exactly as we wanted. I would recommend this to anyone.

Good service at this pub attached to a Premier Inn. Stayed one night, room clean. Unfortunately unable to open a window to let fresh air in, conditioned air horrible and therefore unable to sleep well. Had to go outside to be able to breath fresh air at 2am! Food was fine and service really good.

Decent Food, But Lacking in ServiceI recently visited The Hobbs boat in Weston-super-Mare and had an overall mixed experience. While the food was decent and flavourful, there were certain aspects that left me feeling disappointed.To begin with, the atmosphere of the place didn't quite meet my expectations. It seemed like a rather chaotic setup, with what appeared to be the landlord and an elderly gentleman multitasking on the restaurant floor. This gave the impression of a lack of organization and professionalism.During my visit on a Tuesday evening, we were seated near the bar. Unfortunately, it took around 10 minutes for our drinks to be brought over to us, which was a bit frustrating. What puzzled me even more was that other patrons received their drinks before us, even though we were seated right next to the bar. This inconsistency in service left me feeling a little perplexed.Based on this experience, I can only imagine that things might worsen on a busier night. It is concerning to think that both the food and service could decline under such circumstances, and that's why I cannot give it a higher rating.Overall, The Hobbs boat has potential with its tasty food, but improvements are needed in terms of service and attentiveness. It's an okay option if you're in the area, but keep in mind that the experience might not be as smooth as you'd hope for.

Our server Catherine was very attentive. Good value for the festive menu, served hot and in a timely manner. Not visited for about 12 months but the restaurant is handy to meet friends so we thought we would try again. Had issues in the past with waiting time and the food being mediocre but pleasantly surprised by the improvements. Expanded gluten free options too. Well done team.

Easter Sunday meal with family. Nice relaxed atmosphere and fully booked. The menu choices are British pub classics. Service was attentive for drinks and food, with the kids starters coming out quickly.All in all a nice pub, with honest pub food and good kids options. Also catered well for Gluten Free with a full allergen bible and separate fryer (good knowledge of cross contamination).

In a word 'GREAT'I know everyone compares venues on there previous experience, and I am no exception.But what a surprise, we'd given it a miss for quite a while after being previously dissatisfied. But no complaints this time.Food was nicely presented and well cooked.Service was just at the right level of attentiveness and friendliness, a big thank you to Kathleen for that, well done.Atmosphere was warm and inviting.What more could you ask.Keep up the good work
