Invergordon Tours

Liam showed us a great day on our tour of the Inverness and Speyside area. The itinerary was exactly what we wanted as Gavin, the owner, had worked closely with us to tailor the ​experience to our specific requests. Liam picked us up at our hotel, he was timely and ready to get us started for our day at 0830. Right from the start, we found Liam to be funny, informative, and extremely relaxed. Even as he drove on the small, windy Scottish roads, he created a very calming and enjoyable environment. During our tour, we visited Urquhart Castle and then enjoyed a wonderful boat ride across Loch Ness before docking for lunch at the Clansman Hotel for lunch. We were happy to have Liam join us as he continued to entertain us and share his local knowledge. Our next stop was Culloden Battlefield where Liam dropped us off with plenty of time to enjoy the exhibit and to walk around the battlefield. Upon returning to the car, Liam surprised us with his first whisky samplings, and we enjoyed tasting them right out of the boot of the car. He then took us to our first distillery where we sampled and brought some lovely whisky; while all along he shared his knowledge of the whiskies we were tasting. After the distillery, we had some more whisky samplings along with some Scottish Tea cakes andchocolate. We ended our great day with one last distillery and then Liam dropped us off right back at our hotel. We highly recommend Liam and Invergordon Tours for a lovely and enjoyable day in the Inverness area.

We were picked up directly from our cruise ship, right on time, by our local guide, Fach. He was likable, funny, and catered our tour to four or exact specifications. We had an absolutely wonderful trip around Northern Scotland. I highly recommend this private tour!

These tours are AMAZING...you are selling yourself short going with any other option. We booked and went early March 2020 and it was the favorite day of our trip... everything was seamless and special. The trip was tailored to our needs and requests to perfection!

Fiona was amazing, from her knowledge of the history and culture of the area, to providing homemade treats, and giving raffle prizes. Her tribute singing at the Culloden Battle Site was absolutely beautiful. Loughy was a safe driver and the coach was very comfortable. Would highly recommend.

We had the best day with Gavin whilst on our honeymoon in Scotland. We booked our entire trip to Inverness, solely for this experience and we are SO glad we did! Gavin was the best tour guide and we had so much fun! The passion he has for Scotland (& whisky!) was clear to see and his infectious personality meant we had such a great day too. We had a perfect day out from our cruise ship. Fiona told us so many interesting things , I need to write it all down this evening. Forgetful old me haha. Throughout the day, lots of Outlander related details of the history were pointed out. I have only read about them. The names of places like Culloden , Fort William etc made history come alive. Thank you from the bottom of my heart Fiona and the bus driver with the unspeakable name ! I will be back !

We were fortunate to have a private tour of the Highlands with Gavin as our personal tour guide. What an amazing experience! Absolutely loved Gavin, his sense of humour and passion for his job made for a very memorable day. Gavin was extremely knowledgeable and very accommodating, giving us options for places to see, and most importantly, a great place for a pub lunch!! We enjoyed his excellent company as we tried haggis and black pudding, which was actually quite tasty! Would highly recommend booking a tour with Gavin, it will be a day that you won’t forget!

We took the Loch Ness Private Tour with Gavin, the owner of Inverness Whisky Tours, and can't stop signing his praises after a truly wonderful day.Gavin picked us up at our hotel, was prompt and jovial, and we set off in his comfortable luxury car to start our day of exploration. As we started off on the drive we talked about some of our must-sees of the day, and I appreciate how he evolved and personalized the tour as the day progressed.We were able to see some off-the-beaten path views of Loch Ness, he arranged a boat tour for us to get out on the water and see Urquhart Castle and learn more about Nessie. He took us to a magical water fall and enchanted my 5 year old daughter with stories of real fairies living in the forest, cruised us down the scenic coastline and found us some local shops for special souvenirs. My one request was seeing a highland cow up close, and he delivered! We ended the day with a walk around the Clava Cairns and Culloden Battlefield. When we got back to the car to end our tour, Gavin set up a little scotch and chocolate tasting to cap off the day.Perhaps the best part of the tour was Gavin's flexibility and thoughtfulness for our 5 year old daughter. He quickly rerouted plans when she stated to get hungry and found us a local spot to each lunch, and he rerouted again to give mom and dad a scenic view in the car when our daughter took a precious 20 minute nap on our the travels, so she got to sleep and recharge and we didn't have to miss out on any of the tour.His local knowledge and hospitality made us feel like we truly got to see the best of Scotland on our visit - thank you Gavin for a wonderful adventure we'll always remember!

Gavin & Invergordon Tours - really turned out to be one of the best highlights of our trip. We docked, walked off the ship and Gavin/ was waiting for us he provided us with a little bit of history of the area and gave us two samples of some beautiful spirits with chocolate to start our trip He provided our unique personal tour of the area to a couple of the usual places but he also included surprising stops at water falls and to see local highland cows in a nearby pasture.  didn't catch a glimpse of Nessie"
