Fantastic shop and fantastic staff! Sam (shop manager) is brilliant at what he does and really knows his stuff. Nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff.When I started I knew not a fat lot, all the knowledge and experience gained is hugely down to Maidenhead Preston and I am really grateful for all of the support over the years.I believe this to be the best store around and would recommend anyone giving it a go themselves.Thank you

Lovely quality fish and products but received lots of misinformation.I have a 90L fresh and cold water tank, for which I purchased 3 yo-yo loaches and green tiger barbs - I was told these were suitably sized for my tank with room for a few more. When I returned to purchase more, I was told I shouldn’t have yo-yo loaches in the tank as it was too small (I was told this by the same person who sold me them initially) and that I could not have any other fish in the tank and I needed to get a much bigger tank. As well as this, I had phoned the store before going in to check if they had a certain species of fish, to which I was informed they didn’t have any, however when I got to the Preston store, there was a tank full of them.I am greatly frustrated as I have spent a lot of money on this tank, only to be told I cannot get any more, or even have the fish I currently have.I won’t be returning to or supporting this store any more.

very expensive shop compared to others available in Preston but the fact that the goldfish are wonderful, only the aquariums are terribly dirty

Great aquarist shop has everything from cold water to reef fish will also special order fish in if they don’t have it. They also have a range of aquariums to choose from. They sell foods and meds for your fish and decor for your tanks. Very informative about the marine side as that’s what I had mainly asked about due to me doing research before starting one up but I’m sure they will be able to answer any questions you have from beginner to advanced aquarists in the hobby.

We had a problem with our water, black growth in the tank, we tried everything. We went to see Sam in Preston, he was amazing, he tested out water, it was like watching a chemistry lesson. He found the problem, to much silica in our tap water, and suggested RO water.Problem is completely solved. We are so grateful. SAM you are FABULOUS. Great shop, helpful staff. Friendly and knowledgeable, excellent staff. None judgemental always ready and willing to answer any questions. They treat a customers purchasing a tub of fish food with the same respect as someone buying a 300litre marine set up. Always greeted with a smile. The staff here set a benchmark for customer service not just within the fish keeping community but within retail as a whole. Thank you.

One of the best aquatic shops I've seen in the North West! They really know their stuff too, staff are lovely and a massive selection of tropical and marine life with some fantastic advice from staff I got myself 2 beautiful fish I will be visiting this place again definitely and I definitely recommend it anyone looking for live foods, plants or aquatic life

Brilliant shop. Very friendly staff that are knowledgeable and happy to do their best to help. Would recommend to anyone weather they are just getting into the hobby or looking to add to an established tank.
