I love it here such a lovely little campsite

We holidayed with fox hangers on the Kennet and Avon canal both for the first time this year, the boats are well equipped, and handed over with guidance and tuition, it’s easy to say there could be more, but I do understand that there are time constraints, and even experienced boaters could come across different obstacles they haven’t come across before, we would 100% recommend fox hangers and we will for sure be booking again once your 2024 bookings are open thank you

Lovely people great boats, very clear instructions and an all round excellent experience. I'd certainly use them again.The kennel and Avon canal is a great place to visit, loads of pubs and plenty of locks.Foxhangers is located very close to the famous Caen hill lock flight, so if you're keen on trying it, they're a good start point. If not the then heading towards bath has only 7 locks and takes 2days. Bradford on Avon is reached in one day.

Great place to hire a canal boat. Friendly and well informed staff. Our boat was clean on arrival and well equipped. The pre holiday run through was informative and funny. Well done.

Visited the caravan park which was easy to find, male host was lovely start to finish, however female host was hostile! When arrived she asked me quite angrily “what do you want?” When I simply wanted the keys for the caravan, she also told me to “figure out the heating I turned it off” and refused to tell me how to do it leaving us cold for the first night. Caravan had good facilities, although I think she took certain items out the caravan in the middle of the stay for reasons I’m not sure of. I would stay again if to be greeted by the male host, he was really friendly, but the lady living in the farm house really needs to understand people are paying money to stay there! Doesn’t hurt to be nice or talk your guests through the facilities.

I am unable to recommend this company, due to their lack of care when things go wrong. If you encounter no issues with your boat during your trip you’ll probably be fine, but if you do be aware they will do the minimum to sort you out and offer no aftercare/support/recompense for lack of service/facilities.We had a significant issue with a broken toilet. The out of call number is not 24 hours, and you must arrange somewhere convenient to meet to have the boat looked at for repairs (this can involve hours of moving the boat). In our case the ‘repair’ actually left us in a worse situation (the toilet was rendered totally unusable) and when we queried this we were told nothing could be done as the boat was due back the next day – leaving us in a tricky situation without the main toilet (for three adults) for another 19 hours (after it had already been broken for 12 previous hours). We reported this upon returning the boat, but no-one took our disappointment seriously. We have followed up since, unfortunately Foxhangers seem intent on avoiding the issue, attempting to deflect any responsibility from themselves, and are dismissive about our lack of paid for basic facilities (for a third of the trip). They have refused any compensation for the lack of toilet (only offering a 10% discount off a future trip – I am not prepared to pay another £1000 to a company that did not provide us with the service paid for first time around).To balance this review, the boat itself was as expected and contained the items you needed for your trip. The communication prior to the trip was excellent. And the briefing we received before having the boat handed over was very good, we felt able to ask questions and were reassured by the information provided.A small note about a canal holiday – it’s not easy! Locks/swing bridges can be challenging and steering a 62ft boat take a bit of mastering. However, everyone we met along the way was friendly, and the wildlife is lovely. Unfortunately, I can’t in good faith recommend this company given our experience.

This is a great site to get away from it all and walk the amazing Kennet and Avon canal .. we stay here every year to catch up with old friends from school :-)

Greeted by friendly and professional staff, and started off after an hour of instruction. Great location if you want to avoid Caen Lock Flight, and head west to Bradford, Bath, etc

Great boat hire company, very well fitted out boat. Would use them again and highly recommend to others.
