Ha'penny Pier
Took a drive into Harwich and ended up here. Lovely quiet place on the day we visited. Lovely cafe on the Pier, public toilets opposite (free). Had a nice walk along the harbour.

Ha'penny Pier
Ha'penny Pier, located in the historic town of Harwich in Essex, England, is a charming and iconic pier that has been a focal point of the town for over a century. The name Ha'penny Pier" harks back to the days when visitors had to pay a halfpenny to access the pier

A nice ride out with some friends to Dovercourt. Sadly the sun was absent much of the time. Nice cuppa and ice cream, good friends.

Ha'penny Pier
Ha'penny Pier is an absolutely essential visiting point in Harwich Town because it truly seems to capture the maritime character of this unique tiny port. Ha'penny Pier is itself of very limited size, but this is all part of its quaint appeal, having survived a fire that destroyed its full length. The kinked platform remaining is enough space to support the pontoon access to the Foot Ferry, compact cafe, & visitors' information kiosk. Ha'penny Pier is an ideal observation spot, facing towards the RNLI Station & LV18. There's at least a dozen benches along the boardwalk from where it's possible to watch the Seagulls, local & international sea traffic. Anglers use the Pier to catch whatever's in season, & it's even become a display for maritime themed 3D artwork; 'Esturiana'. But maybe the best time of all to visit is after dark, when the lights from nearby Felixstowe Docks are reflected across the water, or best of all when a Stena Lines ferry passes on the way to Parkeston, with all the porthole windows lit. Ha'penny Pier is also where to catch the Foot Ferry, the pontoon serving as a midpoint on the triangular route between Felixstowe & Shotley. A collection of padlocks has amassed from visitors, to be found on the railings at the far end of Ha'penny Pier. There's even free wi-fi provided on-site for visitors!

Ha'penny Pier
Been a few years since I was her last had amazing food at the cafe on the pier, crafts on for kids in the visitors center on the pier too. Kids went crabbing off the pier too and caught quite a few. Then finished off with a wonderful milkshake

Ha'penny Pier
It's a small but popular pier for locals and multinational visitors. It has a cafe, which serves great quality food and drink. The views are lovely, especially in the evening towards sunset. Its worth and hour of your time even if its just to sit and relax.

Ha'penny Pier
Not a big pier by any means, but a very historic town with a maritime walk and nice walks for all abilities. Public toilets are opposite the pier, with others if you walk along the promenade towards Dovercourt. Various eateries and pubs in the area, the pier has a cafe on it.

Ha'penny Pier
Cute little pier with lovely views, well maintained and accessible to all. Attended a Seal Boat ride from here which was amazing! The cafe on the pier has seen a real decrease in customers since their substantial increase in food, which is such a shame. It really is disappointing as the location is fabulous.Don’t miss the Museum on the pier and exploring Re Doubt fort!

Great little pier! Easy parking, a nice place to view the boats and sea gazing! Nice little food trucks, and places to get afternoon tea or refreshments, a tour or a boat trip— something for everyone!
