The Lensfield Hotel
This hotel is in a great location, not too far from the train station, easy to get a taxi and close to some attractions and green space. We stayed here because it was one of the few hotels left with space as there were many graduation ceremonies happening that weekend so Cambridge was full. The common areas are really tired, the carpets and decor need a refresh. The room was fine but some parts of it were not in good order. The telephone and air conditioning unit were covered in a layer of dust so thick they were grimy. They did however, concentrate cleanliness on the areas that matter, the bathroom and the bedding both immaculate.Considering it is the same price as better hotels I’ve stayed at in Cambridge, I’d rather book elsewhere than come back.

I stayed here for one night, it's good in location as it's in between to the city centre and the train station.I had the room on a ground floor at the back, it's clean, comfortable and quiet at night.Friendly service and helpful.I arrived at 4 p.m. but lucky enough to get the last space of the car park just right in front of the hotel. There are limited to 5 spaces of car park.Overall it's a lovely hotel as I can walk to the nearby restaurants and to the city centre, to Parker's Piece, Grafton centre and etc. Will come back again.

Centrally located hotel, offering friendly service and hospitality. The ability to have breakfast onsite is excellent. The hotel is clean and well appointed and the upgraded rooms are very comfortable. Having a room away from the street noise is good. Parking is limited but if available is good. There are commercial parking stations in easy reach. When next in Cambridge, we will definitely stay here again.

Great hotel quite close to town and the train station, just in between the two. Not too pricey. Frendly staff. I'm happy with the size of the room and comfortable beds and a big bathroom.

Spent two nights at The Lensfield: the first night I got a pretty dirty room. The second night, the room was way better. In a similar manner, 50% of the staff was ok, while 50% had a lot of sass to give e.g man at the front desk was utterly annoyed and was rude on the phone when I informed him, I was getting in on the 10 pm train. Later, a different man at the desk refused to call the cab company to get a quote and ask about the best time to depart in the morning. Late checking and calling a cab seem pretty standard hotel services to me. The location is good, close to the beautiful botanical garden, around the corner of a convenience store and nice breakfast/coffee spots, down the street from a bar, walking distance from downtown. Overall, not bad for a budget hotel and not bad for overnight transits… but the service and cleanliness have room for improvement.

Bathroom door is frosted not very private if your with someone. Asked for drinks at the bar small choice beer wine cider prosecco. Breakfast not included in the price but continental on offer at extra cost. Says boutique hotel ive stayed in better good location.

A bit creaky and pokey in places but atmospheric and in great location. Parking was handy. Room was fine but lacked a reasonable desk or table-top & chair making it hard for anyone wanting to use laptop other than on the bed. Overall quite good.

Awful.I spent one night in early December 2023. They put me in the room 154, small space in the basement with strong cold draft all over the floor. The window gives to some sort of backyard with old junk stored along the brick wall. The worst of all was poor sound isolation - I could hear all sorts of noises from sides and above; hardly a peaceful night even though I usually sleep like a log.Clearly, I cannot comment about any other rooms but if they give you this room 154, avoid as a plague. That is unless you like to feel what is it to spend a night in a refurbished broom cupboard.
