Hostelling Scotland

I booked a room in advance, called to confirm the day before and I was told yeah everything is all good. Turned up and it was under a different first name, I was put in a dorm and charged for a private room and all the private rooms had now been sold/occupied.That being said, the woman the was on the desk was amazing, got me sorted into an alternative room despite them being fully booked/sold out.

Stayed with a large group. Service was really friendly.Rooms and beds were ok. It's had an amazing view. Clean.Really needed more plugs. Good toilets. The shower was hot but the shower curtain did nothing to stop the room floor becoming very wet (shower curtain being all that separates the two).Breakfast wasn't up to much so we ended up topping that up. Thankfully the kitchen is pretty large. Could only find one useable frying pan and had to way quite a while to use it.Plenty of social space and a great location for exploring the old town.

Good hostel if you stay in Stirling. Staff was nice and helpful, guest kitchen was clean and well equipped. The beds are quite shaky and not really comfortable, also the shower is just separated by a curtain from the rest of the room. There are also only two plugs available in the room.

Great location. Helpful staff. Very poor breakfast. Easily solved: stay there have breakfast in one of the nearby options.

Great location for the castle and train station for other cities. Rooms are basic and clean. Showers are good and well kept. Kitchen needs a bit more regular attention to keep it clean and bins empty. Some noise from sqweeky floorboards and banging doors but generally it's quiet. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Nice place to stay, rooms were decent and the showers nice and hot. The self catering area was nicely stocked, most of the stuff was clean, and the staff friendly. Nice location in Stirling, and very close to the castle. Would definitely recommend!

A beautifully placed hostel with nice, clean rooms. Hamish is the best! He cares about the people who stay there and reacts to the problems if they arise.

Great hostel, value and facilities the only small disappointment is the meagre drying room

We very much enjoyed our stay at this hostel! We arrived in Stirling well before check-in, but were allowed to leave our bags until we checked-in. The desk staff were kind, helpful and friendly. We stayed in a double ensuite and found the room to be very clean. We did find the shower a bit intense - but the strong water pressure was nice after a long train ride and carrying a large backpack (mostly) uphill from the train station, though some water did splash onto the floor. The shared spaces were also clean and well organized. The hostel was very conveniently located and we were able to walk to Holyrood Abbey, Stirling Castle, Stirling Distillery and a Tesco Superstore. We would absolutely recommend this hostel to other travellers.
