Had a Sunday roast today and it was pretty disappointing overall. Have been before and it was a lot better. Our party of four, 3/4 were unhappy. Two ordered roast chicken, it was not stated the chicken was on the bone, I would not have order if I'd known, one piece was fine the other was very dry and not nice. The rest was very underwhelming on the plate and we had to ask for more gravy for the table as we all felt there wasn't enough. The beef I am told was very chewy and not nice considering it was supposed to be tender. As a side note not a single member of staff knew how to bunkle the baby high chairs, it was confusing because 2/3 we tried seemed to be damaged in some way, we gave up and used her pushchair instead which made her uncomfortable and unsettled for the whole meal. Overall for the price of this meal and for somewhere that has been good before, I wouldn't go back. There's too many other good choices around for a Sunday roast. I cook a better one at home for a lot less money. A real shame and really disappointed.

George was very affable and friendly. Food was good and atmosphere not too bad. Better than previous experiences.

The restaurant is really nice and the garden was really lovely. The road noise is a bit, but if that really bothers you then I'd recommend sitting inside. The starters were a bit disappointing as the honey mustard glazed chipolatas are not glazed at all, it is a dip, and the calamari was overcooked. The mains (crispy beef salad and mixed roast) were delicious. The puddings (sticky toffee and caramel-chocolate chip cheesecake) were really tasty. I would think this would be a great pub on a warm summer afternoon to have a few drinks and relax in the garden. It's worth a stop in.

Excellent, attentive service. Nothing was too much trouble, even though we were quite a large party. An nice extra touch was a birthday card from the team to the person celebrating, which was lovely. Great food too with extensive gluten free options - quite the boon for one of our number. Will definitely return.

Great staff and lovely atmosphere. We went for roast dinner which was OK but very average, felt like potatoes and veg had been kept warm for quite a while. Desserts were nice.

If you are ever in the Oxford area and looking for a traditional pub to enjoy a meal, this is definitely it. The atmosphere is amazing, the food is delicious and the service is excellent. I would definitely return the next time I am in the area.

A stop for lunch as we headed west, arrived early and were lucky to get a table, make sure to book for the weekends. Food is tasty, fresh and wide ranging without being overwhelming. Great for those watching their weight with calorie counts on the dishes. Drink choice is also plentiful, staff are friendly and we're attentive. Deffo recommend for those that like something pub luxe.
