An interesting place to visit on Islay where the Lords of the Isles used to gather. Various ancient ruins give the visitor a general idea of the meeting places, accommodation, kitchens and chapel that served the needs of the said Lords.

Very interesting small museum with a loop film giving the history of the place. The walk across the bridge to the island and the information boards on the island were really informative.

Excellent visitor centre with displays, films and enthusiastic knowledgeable staff. Even has virtual reality. Pleasant walk down to island just about manageable with walking aid. A very worthwhile trip.

£4 per person to walk into the visitors centre, before another fee to walk out to the ruins. Was hoping to make a purchase of a souvenir from the visitors centre, but £4 just to look around was a bit rich.

The story behind the site is deeply interesting, and the lady who explained it to us is a brilliant storyteller.I enjoyed our visit much more than I expected

Excellent although the museum is small and most of the artifacts are in Edinburgh. Some interesting information around 14th century ruins. Small single track road not too difficult provided you don't meet anyone coming the other way.
