Lovely hotel for a single night stopover for work just outside Edinburgh.Couldn't fault the service and the food was fantastic!Pretty close to a main road so some traffic noise but nothing too bad!

Only popped in for a coffee and a cake en-route to our destination. Great looking place with large seating areas. Staff were helpful and attentive.

Popped in for a meal, selection from the menu was good, with everyone in our party choosing something different, the plates were all empty at the end, indicating our satisfaction with the meal.Service from our waiter Arran couldn't have been any better from beginning to end......... I would highly recommend and definitely be back

Excellent meal, fish and chips were really good, the home made chips were the best we have tasted in a very long time. The service was excellent too, friendly and very efficient and a nice cosy atmosphere. We were staying at the campsite next door and didn't expect much but were very pleasantly surprised. Highly recommend.

En route between Edinburgh and Coldstream, it is not easy to find a place to stop for a cuppa in late afternoon. This an excellent stopping place with very friendly staff. Whether you want a meal or snack , you can be sure of good quality food at any time during the day. .

Lovely hotel, all staff very friendly and go completely above and beyond. They even baked a beautiful cake and decorated the table for my 2 year old niece which was fantastic. All the staff even came out for the cake. Highly recommend! Steak pie is also perfect for dinner.

A hidden gem located in the picturesque Scottish Borders, didn't get a room but had a very welcome cup of hot tea and black pudding bap to thaw out from a cold drive up the A697, plus an EV charger which are a rarity in this corner of the country, let alone a rapid one.

My family come here almost every year however today has really ruined that for me.For starters my mother ordered a soda a lime when she almost finished the drink she noticed lipstick on the inside of the glass meaning it wasn’t cleaned properly.My mother and father ordered the turkey from the Christmas menu. When it arrived I was appalled. There was no colour just brown and it looked really bland, the Yorkshire pudding was rock solid and un-edible.Our waiter Dave didn’t know anything and he mumbled the dessert menu special so no one could hear it.Desserts took another hour to arrive.Once arrived they were devoured and really goodThe wait for food and drinks was an hour when hardly anyone was in. Which is beyond ridiculous.Our waiter Dave didn’t apologise or do anything when we complained to him about the food.Personally I believe Dave either needs to be sacked or retrained as his performance and attitude was not on.

Stopped over on our way to Oban, great dog friendly stay. Staff were friendly and helpful and quickly addressed the issue we had with our room. The food was also very nice and served with a smile.The only thing I could advise is a few dog poo bins outside.
