Had a birthday meal at the pub, loved the location and setting, staff were very friendly and helpful but unfortunately we had 2 vegetarians in our group and they had sold out of veggie option they both wanted which was a disappointment. Staff were very obliging in sort an alternative but it was a shame as it spoiled the birthday girls meal that she had wanted.Would go back as the staff and setting was excellent.

A lovely Saturday night stay while visiting family. Chris and the team were very welcoming. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, dinner was excellent and breakfast set us up perfectly for a cold Sunday. A five star stay!

We regularly stay here as we love the atmosphere of a country pub but with exceptional food, friendly and helpful staff, super clean and comfortable rooms. An all round good place to stay and you won't be disappointed. Also very good value for money.

We stayed overnight on the way to the Lake district, the pub is close to the M6 but in a lovely rural setting. The room was very comfortable and large. The breakfast was great and the whole experience was good value for money. `Butcombe bitter outstanding! Stay only marred by a somewhat ordinary evening meal.

Went to the Bowling Green for a special birthday meal with friends and it was definitely the best place to choose to dine both for service and superb food. The dining room has the right ambience for a pleasant all round experience. A big thank you to the staff who execute there business with warmth and professionalism to make a memorable experience.

We had a good lunch in the well designed and pleasant inn.The staff were friendly and approachable.The menu is varied and reasonably priced.The drinks selection is good and priced fairly.The pub is in a rural setting and historical with exposed beams.

Lovely place to stay, rooms have everything you need and more, comfy bed and pillows, all the toiletries you need in bathroom and really nice quality. Homemade gluten-free, vegan biscuits to have with you cuppa and fresh milk in a flask. Breakfast included, great menu to. Have stayed a few times now, always fantastic.Have eaten off pub menu a few times, food fantastic. Staff friendly and very helpful to.. thank you to Chris and all the staff

Have just returned home from an overnight stay here, having met up with old friends for dinner. We picked Hadley Bowling Green from its online reviews and the fact that it was in a good location, situated about halfway between us. We are so glad we did!Everything about our stay was absolutely perfect. Brad was such a friendly and welcoming host and nothing was too much trouble for him. Having enjoyed a couple of excellently kept Butcombe beers and also sampled from the good choice of delicious cocktails, we then set about dinner, where we were looked after by Emma. Emma was also so friendly and helpful and we knew from the off that we were going to enjoy our evening. We tried a range of dishes between us and all of them were delicious - as was the bottle (or two!) of red that Emma had recommended.I’m afraid we were the last to leave the bar and hope we didn’t keep the staff away from their deserved rest for too long! Having retired to an extremely comfy bed we re-convened this morning for a tasty cooked breakfast to set us up for the day.This is a superb pub restaurant that I can unreservedly recommend. Five star service from Brad, Emma and colleagues, alongside great food and comfy, well-kept rooms. Thanks for a brilliant stay and we hope to see you again!

We did a family Sunday lunch in the bar (4 of us plus our toy poodle). The service was friendly and efficient, the food was surprisingly good (choice of roast) and the price fair. This is a lovely English country pub and I would be very happy to take visitors, including from overseas, to eat there.

My partner and I had a great time. We stayed overnight and had lunch, dinner and breakfast. The food was amazing. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and the rooms were great. Everything about the Bowling Green Inn makes you feel welcome. Definitely revisiting. It was easy to find as it's well sign posted off the main A road. Five stars from us
